It's looking really nice, by the way, I dig that cf inlay on the rear trunk emblem (if I am seeing that right), very trick!

CraigMorrison 10-05-2006 07:06 PM

That sounds great! We'd love to crack a few brews open and share war stories. Thanks for the comments on the car. It's been a thrash (day 18 now) but its comming together. I can't wait for you to see it in person.

CraigMorrison 10-06-2006 06:57 PM

Steve- PM me your addy, and I will mail one out to you on Monday :unibrow:

I made the backing plates. You can buy them from Corvette places, but they want like $190 for them. Some .050 aluminum, a few hours time and I had my own. Piece of cake! Maybe a good mini tech story for PHR??????

Cool, lots of carbon fiber, looks great! Can't wait to see it in person.

BTW, your website has issues with frames. Half the text is chopped off in top frame.

Here is the best info I have right now. Last night at Sony the car won several awards. It won Best in Show and Best Hot Rod, the Grand Turismo! It is the featured car for the new PS3 game. Evidently the creator of the game Grand Turismo flew in from Japan to sit in the car.

People have been taking pictures of the car non-stop. Many magazines from all over the world have taken pictures too. The Discovery Channel came and shot the car and an interview with Art and Craig!

Everyone is having a hard time believing the carbon fiber dash is real. In case your wondering, it is real, all of the carbon fiber on the car is real. The most complicated part was the dash which is an overlay on a modified factory part. The difficulty was making it look all one piece with no seams. Keep in mind we only had one dash to work with so it had to be right the first time. :unibrow: The fabric just doesn't like conforming to such a cool shape. Doing one of a kind carbon fiber parts can be very challanging as this certainly was. Thank God it turned out! :hail: The weave direction for the carbon interior parts flows from one part to the next so that your eye is not disrupted from the continous flow of the interior. The air intake tube is all carbon and weighs as much as a hand full of feathers. The challenge was to create it without a traditional mold, no parting lines and once again hide all the seams.

When I hear more I will post more.

The buz continues

Yesterday Art and Craig recieved several invites to the various roadster shows. The important people involved had heard plenty about the car but had not seen it yet. They set out to find it and were in awe when they found it. There has been countless magazine shoots. We are going to be seeing alot of this baby! With all the invites, I'm wondering when Art and Craig are going to get a chance to actually drive this thing let alone test it!

customcam 11-10-2006 03:28 PM

Craig empty your PM box lol

Diognes56 11-11-2006 07:47 PM

Great now I have to convince my wife to let me buy a PS3 and GT5 when they come out  .

We need more pics too ;) .
