I remember that from those days. Super Stock & Drag Illustrated did a series of articles about that project. I think I still have those magazines in a box somewhere.
There was also a feature on discovery some years ago on it. As you see on the film the parachutes started to deploy even before he left the ramp. Crazy to say the least. Jan |

Many years ago I jumped my '67 suicide door Lincoln not that far but it landed on it's wheels. Got crossed up and flew over a meridian. Hit the ground, engine stalled, slipped it into neutral and fire'ed 'er up on and kept on rolling. The lady cop that witnessed the entire event pulled me over. "I have NEVER seen ANYTHING like that". No ticket. Told her that I was late to pick up my sister from the airport. True story. About three hours late....
No damage to the car. |
