1967 Chevelle SS396

Hi!

My name is Alex and I´m from Stockholm, Sweden.
I´m about to start a PT-project of my ´67 Chevelle SS396, after a long whiles thinking.
I´m not one of those matching numbers-freaks, but the cars´s drivetrain is correct, so that´s been my problem.
And also, I love them Pro-Touring ´67-68 Camaros, so I´ve been interested in selling the Chevelle and building one of those instead.

But finally, I think I´ve made up my mind, and hopefully will be starting the Chevelle-project very soon.

My plans this far is a fuelinjected 502 and a Richmond 6-speed, Wilwood brakes, A Strange S60 rearaxle, a Global West-kit in the front, 18"s in the front and 20"s in the back.

Because of the budget, I´ll be starting off with the rearaxle, brakes and the front kit.

Here´s some pictures of the car today.

Thank´s for the great site!!!

Nice 67'! Its always good to catch another one around here. I know its hard to change an original car like that but as long as you keep it all bolt in you can always go back.

Thank´s man!

You´ve got a really nice ´67 yourself.

It´s true about the bolt-ons, but the thing is, that I don´t want to be stuck halfway through the project if some plans are changing and I need to cut something apart....

Nice ride! I'm of the opinion that cutting one up is OK as ling as it's not a super rare car. A '67 Chevelle SS396 isn't all that rare, so if you need the torch or sawzall, I say go for it!

Shiny Side Up!

After getting new wheels last summer...

...I finally got to next level.

I got my new stuff last week from Frank at GP Superstores.

I ordered a complete Wilwood brake kit with drilled and slotted 14" rotors and 6-piston calipers for the front and 13" rotors with 4-piston calipers for the rear.
I also ordered a Hydroboost, a Custom Lee steering box, a Hotchkis TVS-kit and ATS spindles.

Now I just have to find some time to install it, but the snow is coming here in Sweden, so I´m not in a hurry...

Take care and have fun at SEMA, wish I could join!

Hi all!

At last I got my Chevelle running again!

Thank´s to Janne Suhr (jannes_z-28) who helped me with everything and was an awesome support.

He installed a complete Wilwood brakekit with drilled and slotted 14" rotors and 6-piston calipers for the front and 13" rotors with 4-piston calipers for the rear.
Janne also installed a Hydroboost, a Custom Lee steering box, a Hotchkis TVS-kit and the ATS spindles.

I haven´t really tried it out yet, because of some issues with rubbing. We also put in a spacer to raise it a bit because it was too low at first.

I did try the brakes though and nearly knocked my tooth out

Now I´ve got to save up some $$ to buy a LS7, a 6-speed, some Recaros and a new set of wheels...

Here´s some pics for you!
