What is the best electronic fuel pump recommended?
Could someone recommend a good electronic fuel pump. I am currently going to keep the car carberated but wanted to use an electronic fuel pump. I may update the motor at a later date with EFI. What's the best looking and most reasonably priced one on the market?

That would be a horsepower driven question?

As Frank noted, we'd need to know what kind of HP you're making.
As for brands, I've used Aeromotive and Mallory in the past and been happy with them. I'd stay away from Barry Grant. |
Also realize that an EFI pump and a carbureted pump are different, although with the proper regulator you could use an EFI pump now and then swap just the regulator later if you go EFI instead of having to buy two pumps.

I do have bad.... BAD... experiences about Mallory´s 140 fuel pump!!! It caused a fire, which could have been a major issue for my Corvette... (The pump got stucked and the engine back fired.) Which I had just a week earlier finnished after 3 years!!! Now I´m running Aeromotive... and I can recommed it for everybody!!!

An Aeromotive A1000 is not real loud, looks pretty, is reliable, and can support over 1000 hp with forced induction. You would never have a problem with that. I like mine alot so far after 4 years.
If you carbaurated, make sure to use the correct regulator from them to lower pressure enough. |
I use Aeromotive on all my car's,never had any problems with them,The A1000 is a very good pump,up to like 800hp.

Aeromotive a 1000 is the best pump in my opinion. You can also use the aeromotive pump controller to help keep fuel temp down and make it last longer.

I would be concerned with the cubic inches being fed rather than what horsepower the engine produced. GPH should be based on cubic inches.
Also the supply line size and cfm of carburator should be a considering factor as well. |
Depending on cube's and hp level,I would start with -8 to regulator and -6 to carb.

Actually cubes have nothing to do with it at all.
BSFC goes up with power, not cubic inch. It takes a certain amount of fuel to make a certain amount of power. This does change a little when talking the difference between N/A and forced induction because at max power an F.I. motor needs much more fuel added. They typically run at about 11.5:1 AFR versus 13.5 AFR that a N/A motor makes max power at. |

I had a 632 ,and a A1000 pump wouldn't feed it,it made 900hp.pumps should decided on engine size and hp level.

Weldon pums are used extreme offshore and endurance aplications.If you want the best i believe its weldon.

I have never heard a bad thing about Aeromotive! I guess if you dont like red it could be a problem... Just get out the oven cleaner!

I have the BG Enduro(can't remember which one is non efi)...I wouldn't get it again. The first one didn't work so I sent it back and the second works but is very noisy. Unfortunately, in my case the gas tank was made with the mounting brackets(and cover) for this pump so changing it out is a little more complicated.
