What car to put a Viper V-10 into?
Soooo,,
I have a over-built 1100 rwhp Viper V-10 and tranny that I want to wedge into a classic..... Ideas....?... there are the obvious 60's Mopar muscle.....cuda, roadrunner, charger etc..... anybody fit one in a 50's truck...? |
:D
My neighbor painted this car with Viper drivetrain. :wow: http://www.minnessota.com/pictures/Pic_324_3.jpg The owner is a great guy and drives the car all over. http://www.kruse.com/news/concours/DSC02644.JPG http://www.kruse.com/news/concours/DSC02646.JPG Randy |
That 36 is awesome!
I think the V10 would be pretty cool in an old 50's truck. It'd be fun to toss a SVT Lightning motor/trans in an old F100 too. I'm sure someone's done it, but I can't say I've seen one in person yet. |
id put it in a cuda convertable, lime green, viper suspension and interior and a few cosmetic mods.

Viper motor
Put it in a 69 Camaro and see what everybody says. :D

I like oddballs stuff and sleepers.....so here are my ideas.

Blasphemy! :faint: I love it! Great idea!  |
I like the truck idea
I would find a Craftsman Truck Series rolling frame or have one built, put the motor in and hang either a 53 Chevy, 55 Chevy or 53 Ford F100 body on it. With that much motor you would want to be 1. Very safe 2. Be able to enjoy all of that power. You could track it, open road race or take it to the drags.
I can;t remember the guys name, but he had a pretty bad ass 55 chevy that he did trackdays with that made a few magazines...but I think it got wrecked. I think that he had either reinforced the stock frame with a cage or had a tube frame built. I think the motor is too long but putting it in a Pantera would be cool too. |
1970 Fury!!!!

I think a 1970 Fury with a V10 would be killer! A big car with big power. 18x9s up front and 18x12s and a mini tub out back with big meat!!!! Leave the rest of the car stock and lower it just a touch.

I agree with two of the posts above, put it into a big C-body. The big long block will go with the big long car. Fury or Polara will do. Should ride like a dream. Also putting it into an old 40s or 50s Dodge truck would be nice too.

man those are some great ideas...... :D

Boy... you're really living up to your screen name...
I've always loved the lines of a '64 Plymouth Fury. The project could be called "Furious" - which would be a cool licence plate too. http://www.valleymotorsofwinona.com/...oor_60517k.JPG |

ha....either I start a new project or I start messing with your vette...... :D .......I was thinking of putting the bucket seats out of the Porsche 356 and 550 spyder like Duntov did....my girl is trying to talk me out of it by saying ....the damn thing is perfect leave it alone.....I told her it has nothing to do with logic and reason.... :D |
How about a 69 A100 Dodge truck...Keep it dead stock looking on the outside. There is one for sale down the street from where I work for $1,150 with 68K original miles on the clock and no rust. It would make a neat sleeper...call it an RT/100

Fury
I like...love the Fury idea
|
I'd do a 69 Super bee, 67 GTX or 69 Road Runner rat rod style with all the bling under the hood. If you want a truck do a 78 Lil Red Truck.

Viper V10
Well if do put a V 10 into a Mopar B-body be read to cut the car. Look at the June PHR, we built the Super Bee with the Viper engine had to move the firewall 6" and the core support 3" the v-10 is a mile long.

We have one in a 70 challenger stock firewall and stock core support

Where's Waldo?
Randy, I know we've never met before, but you got me in the background on this pic.
http://www.minnessota.com/pictures/Pic_324_3.jpg I'm the short guy with the gray hat just above the orange Chevelle's passenger side visor looking down. :_paranoid As for the V10, I'd do a Daytona or Superbird clone  |
I want to say that GM did a mule 'Vette with either a V-10 or maybe a V-12.
They just cut it and inserted the needed 4.4" or 8.8" between the door and the back of the front wheel opening and you had to really look at it to tell it was stretched.. I want to say they used a "Falconer" SB type engine??? This was years ago..... pdq67 |
66/67 Belvedere or Satellite?
