3 link/4link
Does anyone know how to get hold of the people from Lateral Dynamics? I have left phone messages and emails with not a return? :( Is this company still in business and can anybody share how they are to deal with>? I know they are a sponser on this site but how can they advance and succeed in business if you can't get in touch with anybody from this company?
Can anybody share what they are like to deal with and what is the latest consensus about the DSE 4 link Vs the 3 link? At least DSE will answer the phone. I have never read any real in depth reports on the Lateral Dynamics piece. I have found some information but nothing real technical. Perhaps I missed a thread and need some direction. Thanks |
I moved this for you to the proper forum :)
LD is still in business, they have been trying to hire on some help, but right now the whole deal is being done by Mark. Being a small business is tough. Anyways, I have their system on my Camaro and I like the design. When my car is done I will be track testing it and giving driving impressions. Several people are installing the system, but as is often the case, they are not on the road yet. There's a local '69 that might be on the road by now, not sure. Both the 4-link and 3-link systems are quality items. I'm sure Mark will pop in here to respond. |
What type of car?
What is your Timeframe? We are in production Prototype on a 3 Link system for the Mustangs, which will port to GM in the summer.... http://www.evolutionmsport.com/evmCa...products_id=47 Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks...Mike |
Lateral Dynamics Communication
I had read on this forum how the growing pains of the company were limiting their ability to respond to customers, so I e-mailed them with my questions and requirements.
So far I have been quite pleased with the response. My car needs some special modifications to fit in a particualr class and they have been very good in accommodating my needs. I will let you know more when I actually get my parts cheezer |
The best way to get a hold of the Matt or Mark at Lateral Dynamics is usually via email - send them a note and Mark will call you back. As Steve said they are run off their feet right now and trying to get some more help.
It is well worth the effort - I am really happy with the product. I have some pics on my site of the install (see sig). If you have any questions about the 3-link I can help you out if need be. |
Sorry, Rocketman. No question, I am behind on calls, pure and simple. It is true that we looking to expand, and we have basically found employee #3, which will be a tremendous help. A few more and we will actually represent as a "real" company from a customer interface standpoint. I can assure you though, we are alive, and very well, and further have some pretty neat products coming up quick that will compliment our current rear suspension systems. If you could, please shoot me an e-mail, in pure honesty I am better with e-mail than I am with the phone specifically due to avaialbility (I can respond to e-mails in the middle of the night, but most folks don't particularly like to be called then).
I do realize that this "excuse" is getting old, and I can assure you that it is getting far older for me than it is our customer base. At this point, we are particularly focused on insuring that the customers that do decide to go with our setup are delighted, frankly we're not interested in pumping out as many setups as we can in order to make a buck. So far, all of them have indeed been extremely pleased, that is the priority. Mike (EVM): Can we have a gentleman's agreement to not highjack each others threads, as we are clearly competitors? I mean, if it's a big deal, I don't mind, but it really seems childish, and it's annoying. I can play either way, it's your call. Mark |
3 link/4 link
Thanks for the fast response and honesty...........that means more today than ever. I will email you Mark but I did leave an email and a voice for you a couple of days ago.....and a few weeks ago.
I know what your going through so I can appreciate what your saying. Again thanks for the honesty. Whats the lead time for a gen 1 camaro right now after you recieve a deposit? Thanks |

After we relieve this shortage, we'll be back to our typical less than one week lead time. And, above all, thanks for the understanding. As always, whatever you decide to do on your project, have a blast with it. Gotta run, M |

As for the C/S issue. It is a real issue that is being addressed by Mark. Realize this, it's JUST Mark and Matt right now. Matt is in no. Cali, Mark is in the main shop in Calsbad by himself:willy:. Basically, when Mark can get back to you, he's one of the best I've dealt with (Matt's pretty cool, too). 3-link vs. 4-link There have been a ton of threads on that very comparison. As far as I'm concerned, there's just no comparison (apples to oranges). No matter what is done to a 4-link, it eventually has to bind somewhere in it's travel (in roll), which effectively turns the rear end housing into a 3" hollow anti-roll bar (not to say DSE hasn't done an exceptional job with it, but keep that caveat in mind). DSE setup has been track proven and has done pretty well. The L-D setup has been in the "lateral-1" company car for a while and is also pretty quick on the track by all accounts. Hope this helps Tad |
Just to add to this thread, although Mark has already answered:
He (Mark) is a great guy, and Lateral Dynamics is fantastic :hail: . Be patient, LD are definitely extremely busy, but his 3-link kit is well worth the wait! I live in the UK, Mark managed to get a kit out to me by Christmas Eve last year! - basically a week from the day I ordered it! Can't speak highly enough about him, well worth talking to him as well   to Mark and Matt |

I am not sure what you mean. “Rocket man” titled his post 3 Link/4link, mentioned LD and DSE and had some questions about 3 link vs 4 link. He further mentions he was looking for technical information. Message forums are a way for people to disseminate information. Rocket Man is looking to upgrade his suspension, mentioned two offerings and made an indirect request for tech on the respective systems. We offer a 3 link for the vintage vehicles. I simply made him aware of that fact and offered to answer his questions. How is that a hijack? It may have been more prudent if you sent me a private message or email, instead there is post in a public forum. You are essentially eliciting a response from us. We are new here, but as you are well aware, we are not new to the aftermarket. I have lurked here for over a year and have never seen mention of our name, so we are unknown here. Much of our time has been spent on corner-carvers. We now are in a position to offer the Lateral-G community another rear suspension option. That is all. We hope that we will be able to provide the tech people seek and will continue to post as we see fit. This is not a hijack, nor is it childish. A potential client could not get in contact with you, and requested information via an open forum. We offered to help. Thanks...Mike |
I too was a bit frustrated w/Lateral D. at first. I wanted my questions answered immediately and it wasn't happening. I am a very impulsive guy and having too wait for an answer to an email was discouraging. But, long story short, I have LD's 3-link kit for my 69 maro and the handywork on the pieces is just plain awesome. Mark and Matt have gained every bit of my confidence. Just excersize a little bit of patience and I gaurentee you will not be dissappointed.

dont mean to hijack but does anybody know if the guy from LD are going to make there 3 link fit the GM A bodies

Hey Mark, have you guys looked into removing said inconvenient crossmember and triangulating the new forward link crossmember for added rigidity? Just a thought I had back in my "dreamer" days.
