Just received my carbon fiber valve covers

Got them from one of our new supporting vendors here http://www.carbonfibervalvecovers.com/carbonvc.htm

Quality is excellent and they look great. There is a height issue for me with the Nelson turbo headers that would not likely be an issue for anyone else. I'll have to space the headers out or mod them to clear.

Thank you John for all the help.

Wow Jody...just too sweet.

Speedster 02-08-2007 12:58 PM

Jody, those look killer. How much clearance do you have without spacers?

none. They will not bolt up to the head completely tight without hitting the covers. Pricing some LSX stainless header flanges now.

Pure Sex baby.... Pure Sex ! :unibrow:

Try machining up some tappered flange spacers for the clearance issue. Its easier than altering the header tubes or flanges and cheaper than fab'g a new set of tubes.

Looks nice Jody:thumbsup:

Very good looking part my compliments to carbonfibervalvecovers.com great quality and a very good job at laminate and excellent job at tooling. Do you know what resin base they used as far as the heat factor is concerned against the headers so they dont boil or yellow with the added heat factor.

Jody,
Sell me the headers real cheap and order a set of new ones cause you don't want to really add spacers.

Very nice. I've always wondered why cf covers are not more readily available.

We are trying to remedy that.....

I think other companies have tried making them using hand laid carbon and they didnt work. Dave has developed special resins for heat and a unique manufacturing process that gives our covers more structural integrity than other attempts at carbon covers have had. The K&N covers prolly were the worst thing for the carbon valve cover industry they leak badly and thier finsh wasnt very good. Our manufacturing process fixes those issues. My big block covers have been on my 502 for over 3 years and they dont leak a drop and look like they did the day I installed them. It is our goal to have a carbon valve cover for every popular engine design. Our process is costly since we use billet tooling to build our covers but its the only way to get the quality cover. Our next addition wll be big chief pontiac pro stock type head valve covers. And we are re introducing the air cleaner covers. I'll keep you guys posted on the new stuff as we get it in stock.

I think I will be contacting you on a set!:woot:

My compliments on tooling:thumbsup: Has the product been tested at different heat levels to the point of delamination to find what exact heat level they can withstand?

yes the product has been tested and Dave can spit out those #'s. We havent had any heat issues on normally aspirated engines. The turbo applications may need some minor shielding from direct heat from the turbo hot side. But .070 stainless should be enough to protect the carbon. I can get heat #'s from Dave. I do not recall all the specifics.

Sounds great:thumbsup:
