Annodized black billet hood hinges from Ring Brothers Performance

Here are a few pics of the billet hood hinges from Ring Brothers Performance. They are absolutely incredible.

What you can't see is the minute changes in machining that were done to accomodate the annodizing. The shoulder area was opened up so the bearings could be pressed in without damaging the annodizing, so theres now a step in each of the points that have pressed in bearings.

Someone should make up a set of hinges for the deck lid that allow more adjustability and use the gas cylinders.

TravisB 02-12-2007 02:28 PM

Does anyone know if the distance in between the mounting holes on the hood are the same for a chevelle and a camaro???? I would like to use a set of these on my chevelle. Or do they make them for A-bodys?

Rybar 02-12-2007 04:13 PM

Those look Killer.....hmmmm looks like my next mod. :D

novanutcase 02-12-2007 04:21 PM

Hmmmm.....I wonder how those would look and work on a Chevy II??:unibrow:

Steve1968LS2 02-12-2007 04:30 PM

Hmm. I should call Mike and see if can do mine in black :)

Looks good, the silver doesn't look bad on my car given the other silvers I have in the engine bay, but I like the black better.

How much extra would the anodizing be?

pushrod243 02-12-2007 07:28 PM

jack67rs 02-12-2007 08:09 PM

They're mine. Charley got a set as did Stielow.

If anyone wants them in black, just get a hold of Ring Brothers Performance.

As for fitment to an A-body, Jody and I have been talking about that. The hood mounting slots on the hinges are 12" on center and the hinge bolt slots that bolt the hinges to the inner fenderwell are 8" on center.

Blake Foster 02-12-2007 09:21 PM

Todds69 02-13-2007 03:23 PM

Might have to pick up a set someday...not sure which one I like better yet, might have to go black, but that's down the road a bit anyway.

Thanks for the praise
We are building more parts =) And we have a build of a 1st gen camaro that will end up in effect producing many more parts.

Hey Nick, great to see you on this forum. I was thinking of having some custom made trunk hinges made, unless you might at some point down the road do them yourselfs?

Not that I know of, but if we do end up doing something with the new Camaro build I'll be sure to let you know.

TEDDYS CAMARO 02-14-2007 08:37 PM

Hey how about a lateral-g group buy from Ring Brothers! Let's get something going.

I would be more than willing to work a group buy on 5, 10 and 15 sets respectively for hinges. Basically if you essentially have enough money to buy a set right now and are ready to pull the trigger let me know. Your vote will be considered a handshake that you want a set!

And in response to the 2nd gen hood hinges, they are in the build process. We're almost done with the door hinges, which have gotten a HUGE thumbs up to the few suppliers we've sent them too. So we're finishing those up, and hopefully in the near future the 2nd gen hood hinges will be done. When they are done, I'll be throwing the info up here.

I can't go into detail about the Camaro build because we're keeping it under wraps, and when it's done Ill have a huge documented build up along with a video documentary on it. Ill give you one little bit of info though, it's not getting an LS motor... it's getting something a little bit cooler =) I'll leave it at that. PM me if your interested in group pricing.

Thank you Nick for your reply. Ill PM you about hinges.

One more idea; Could you consider makeing your own "build books" of ringbrother crations like Kona,Reactor and up coming projects? I would give easily 50 bucks each if done and printed nice ( Like orginal build books ) I have no idea if team killeen is allready writing one of your cars but-i would like to see em all more closely than basic magazine features.

Well your in luck sir! Mr Killeen is in fact doing a build book on Reactor! As far as the other projects, there just is not enough source material (build up photos etc). Ill touch base with Scott and see when he expects it to be hitting the printers! And replied to your pm. 2 down, 3 to go!

zbugger 02-15-2007 04:17 PM

Oh, to have money to spare.... I'd SOOOO be in on the hinges if I had money. Well, gotta go to costco for the two cases of Ramen Noodles for dinner!!

mazspeed 02-15-2007 04:20 PM

Hey Nick, quick question. Is it possible to send you my hinges to be anodized blue?
