Here is mine in its current state, just waiting for reassembly at this point. Sorry for the poor picture quality, the lighting was terrible.

Nice truck Nate. Centerbolt valve covers didn't come on an S-10. Cool. The one thing you may want to do is anchor that BSS fuel line going right over the passenger tailpipe. Besides the fire hazard part, it will warm your fuel up a lot more than you want, contributing to detonation.

In that configuration, it must be tough NOT to spin the tires in all gears.

wiedemab 02-19-2007 12:41 PM

Not Pro-Touring, but it's a truck

Here is a pic of my '52 Chevy that I've had since I was 15 years old. I've changed my mind on it so many times I can't remember where I started. More pics and other info are on my website. This pic is when we just trying to mock things together. It was pretty rusty when I got it, so we've built much of the cab etc.

Thanks for the compliments. I actually plan on relocating that line, that is just how it was sitting, the bed is not attached and the fuel line is just sitting there for mock up. I also plan on wrapping the fuel line in that fire tape, i do not want to risk a fire. I am axiously awaiting the day i can drive it, i'm sure its going to be a handful:unibrow:

OK, you can shoot me now, but here is the truck I use as a parts chaser. Yeah, it's a rice burner, but I don't want to rack up the miles on the "good" vehicles.

Im going to build a smallblock for it, put i just dont know what CI i want, I have been thinking 302 LT1 to 396 LT1 and from a 355 to a 406

I want to truck arm the back so bad, but i never have shop space open, im always working on everone else stuff, i guess that part of running a shop.

jerome 02-21-2007 08:18 AM

hey zz4, are those seats you have from summit? cause i have the same ones and from mocking them into my first gen, they are way too high. how did you get yours to sit so low? im thinking i have to make a portion of the floor flat just to get the seat low enough, and i am only 5' 9", head is 1" from headliner

Yep, summit seats. I live 10 minutes from there, and found a few on the discount table...couldnt pass up the deal.

Anyhow, are you using the brackets that came on them? It looks that way int he picture. I tried using a stock s-10 bucket seat bracket, and they were too tall like that. Using the bracket that came on them worked fine for me, but I did "massage" the floor some. I flattened the front ridge in the floor to get the angle right.

I honestly dont know how much room I have to the headliner. I dont think the 2nd gens are any taller than a 1st. Im 6" and 172lbs, and the seat fits pretty much perfect for me. Stuff like that drives me nuts if its not just right.

Wow that tube chassis deal could sure use some Exhaust stacks and a flatbed. That would complete the oakie vibe that guy puts off

Pro Turbo Systems Gen II Lightning PT76 kit (installed in camcojb's garage)
Johnny Lightning Performance built longblock
Crower custom-ground Turbo cams and upgraded valve springs,
4" Downpipe, 48mm Turbosmart Wastegate, Greddy BOV, Bassani BX Catback, Aeromotive Fuel System, 750 cc RC injectors, SCT Pro Racer Package

Tuned by me. 14* of timing and 22 psi of boost.
I'm using pump gas and alky injection (with a splash of race gas for safety).

Yep, I have the stock Lightning/Harley A/W intercooler setup. I upgraded the reservoir with a larger one and increased the size of the exchanger in the front with a LFP unit.

You laugh... but I just upgraded from the 60# injectors to the RC 750cc injectors and been struggling to get the tune right. I wanted to turn up the wick some more.

The real power... I'm picking up a 521 cu in BBF motor for the '68 Galaxie, then the fun will begin as I try to get that motor in.
