Wheel choice for the '66!

I was originally going to go with:

ICE
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...utcase/Ice.jpg

But am having second thoughts! Here are a few candidates:

TRIG
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...tcase/Trig.jpg

GROOVE
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...oodGuys009.jpg

HRE 541

They're going on this:

If you have any suggestions please feel free to offer them up as far as a choice of wheel. Also, suggestions on finish would be appreciated too! I originally was going to go with the ICE wheel with a polished hoop and brushed center but I also like the brushed hoop with an anodized center. Not sure what color the car will be!

The ICE looks nice... and it rhymes :) I am sure you are going to have some real nice rotors and calipers so besides being the most attractive wheel , in my opinion , they will also show off more of the detail in your brake package. Win win

i would go with the HRE 19 and 20s. The car would look insane!

what's the rear wheel in the mock up looks good in opinon;)

I like HRE - but they are overplayed - The groove is very different and has good styling. I also like the soft lip design of the ''Groove''so the rim has the illusion of being deeper and cleaner looking.

I also like the groove. I was thinking the brushed hoop and top surface of spoke and maybe anodize the inside of the spokes!

That would be very tastefull. Have you picked a color yet?

Mustang wheel........

If your planning to have the center anodized - then see if you can get them anodized before they are welded together.

The finish will be much cleaner at the hoop/rim union

seen it both way's and there is a difference.

Trig: brushed face, polished rim outer, and polished window accents.
Ice: brushed center, polished rim outer.
Groove: polished face, brushed groove/sides of spoke, brushed outer.

with so many finishing options it is very hard to throw out the right look. All of these designs will really compliment your build.

kennyd 03-14-2007 10:11 AM

depends on color of the car ,
cool light colors , example silver ,whites, light blue , i like the full polished wheel
warm earth tones i like the groove with brushed centers
dark drastic colors ,anodized center with pilished shell

i think the groove style wheel the best

Budnik Wheels 03-15-2007 10:23 AM

kenny is right... color of car is going to make a big difference in wheel finishing options.

-jason

p.s. i didn't vote! yet. maybe i'll put up some pictures later.

get off the computer and go get my 2 sets of wheels done ! lol

J2SpeedandCustom 03-15-2007 11:36 AM

I like a couple of those designs. My preference is to do a 3 piece wheel. Have the inner and outer lips chromed no cleaning or polishing! Then since the center can be removed you can have it coated, polished, chromed, annodized, etc. And you can get the wheels now and decide about that later...my $.02

And my vote went for the HRE's.

I agree with JohnnyR.

If you have to do the HREs I think the 844R would look better.
