Looks good! You should post some more pics, maybe some of the 2 Lui's cars.

rockdogz 04-21-2005 12:56 PM

where'd you get em?

That's cool - I was thinking just the other day that some old style rally wheels in some bigger sizes would be sweet. Where'd you get them?

Woody 04-21-2005 01:10 PM

Sandro, I just installed the 17" Rallye Wheels on my car. I am real happy with how they look. I did not realize they were making 20" wheels now. Looks great!

Tom, you can get them from Wheel Vintiques. www.wheelvintiques.com

I just posted a couple of pictures of my car in the new members section if you want to see how the 17" versions look.

20s look great

We need more pictures and specs! Looks great - what size tires - what backspace wheels? Then of course after you get a chance to drive it any rubbing issues? Thanks - Jack

These rims r actually lui's with the red 68. I liked them so much I sold my wheels and ordered a set. The only problem is now I have no wheels :( . the tires I'm running r 285/30r20 and 245/30r20 or 225/30r20, Lui went with 225/30r20 in the front. his car looks awsome. The offsets I went with were 6" in the back and 5 1/8" inthe front. One of the resons I went with these rims is that when I installed drop spindles on my car it ended up putting my tie rod ends to close to my wheels, so I had to run wheel spacers. Now with the 20's it clears my tie rod end completey and in the rear my new rims r an inch wider than my old ones. every inch count's :unibrow:

I was running a 20x8.5 with 5 1/4" b/s and 285/30R20 tire. My rear end is a 12 bolt housing that was built to stock width, but I'm running big ford bearings (no c-clips). The leafs are globle west cat 5's dearcked about 2 1/4 inches. I think a total of just over 3.5" inches.
In the front a 18x8 with 5" b/s and 235/40R18. On the fornt I run 2" dropped spindles and QA1 adjustable coil overs. After installing the dropped spindles I had to run a 1/4" spacer for clearence between the tire and tie-rod end.

If your going to order rims I would just use this as a reference. I've probely let about 3 or 4 other people try my rims on their cars (all camaro's 68,69's mostly stock) and they never fit the same way on each car..

ViperBlue68 05-03-2005 06:13 PM

I had issues with my drop spindals as well I had a 18x8 with 5" b.s. and it rubbed the tie rod end... changed to the 4 & 1/2" b.s. and it fits fine...woulda never used the drop spindals in the first place had i known it.... :(

I felt the same way but at the time I had sent all my front bear set up back and exchanged it for the drop spindle set up.
My car sat to high without the spindles so I had to compromise. Now with the 20's in the front there is lots of room even with 5" b.s.

So far I only have the fronts, I recieved the rear wheels only to find out that they sent me the wrong offset. To be hounest, I've never dealt with a company that has made so many mistakes and done so little to correct them. Very unhappy......

jonny51 06-12-2005 11:17 AM

Sorry to hear that Sandro,it seems like alot of people in the automotive aftermarket industry don't care about there customers.

tndude 07-04-2005 09:56 PM

Are they still leaving you hanging on your rear wheels? I hope by now they have you on the road.....

Sandro's 1969 502 Camaro 07-05-2005 02:49 AM

still waiting :_paranoid

Leadfoot1 07-10-2007 09:22 AM

ttt!

Hey Sandro, Did you find those pics yet?!! Just kiddin' as that thread is kinda old...You must have changed model again by now! Hey listen, i have 19's in the front (they are yet to be mounted tough) and i got a 5.2" Bs on 'em, what is your clearance between the tie rod and lower rim part?

Do you think i could run the dropped spindles? A friend just took his out because they hit (i had told him about this and even sent him the links about DS issues but he had to try it i guess) I'm gonna run airbags (i already have the rear Airbar) and am working the front details out just now, i could get the dropped spindles cheap so its getting me to wonder if those spindles would fit...That way i could run very low and also LAY it at shows!

If you got a sec, info would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Lead.
(BTW, i'm in Montreal, Quebec area)
