They have started, no pics (yet)
rendering was done a year ago but the owner does not want to post right now, and they have made some paint scheme changes.
someone will have some photos sometime I am sure!
there is nothing on radrides web site either.

Heres what I posted in Protouring.com. My dad is the owner of the 70 Nova at rad rides.

Update!

Got a few pictures from today.
Here you can see the floor of the car. Floor is perfect except for the very front of it. This picture shows the floor after Jared welded in a new small panel.
Attachment 7262

This is showing how clean this car really was. Here are some parts off of the front of the car.
Attachment 7259

One fender had a small patch put on it about 3"X3" and the other one was perfect with zero rust.
Attachment 7260

Finally, here is a picture taken down the side of the car. All original panels. You will notice all of the marker lights are shaved off, this is the same on the front fenders. Also the stubs that hold the trim are also removed and filled.
Attachment 7261

Baer brakes should be in any time soon and the throttle body came in via ups while we were there today. Still working on the rear suspension (DSE stuff). Enjoy!

Cool, thanks for the pics, Derek. I'm looking forward to seeing it come together. With Troy working on it, it's going to be bad ass.

TravisB 04-25-2007 07:43 PM

Keep the pics coming......I want to see more of this thing its going ot be killer

Bandit Ls-1 04-25-2007 11:59 PM

thats one clean car, cant wait for more pics.

syborg tt 04-26-2007 08:13 AM

so whatever happened to the original Nova

Blake Foster 04-26-2007 09:37 AM

I know this is not really the appropriate place to ask this question but i am going to anyway.
Is this going to be a Full no Rad Rides Build?
what is the time frame for the completed project
how is the invoicing structured
how do they "Estimate" the cost or do they even ask?

the reason i ask ( and if you want to respond in a PM ) is we also build these types of cars and i am very curious as to how different shops handle these things

Its still down there at the shop I believe.

killer69- I dont really know the answers to your questions. This is my fathers car and so hes taking care of that stuff on his own.

All I know is... it is going to be one nasty street car!

Tim Baillie 04-29-2007 09:59 PM

Blake, I emailed Troy one time asking the same thing and all I got back was $55 or $65 a hour, no quote.......

notorious1970 05-16-2007 03:49 PM

Update on the Nova

Anyone been down to the shop to see the nova??

builder69 05-19-2007 02:40 PM

The rear suspension is also DSE with the Coilovers. Also mini tubbed with DSE pieces. The front subframe is engineered really well. Its no nonsense and all business.

builder69 05-26-2007 11:28 AM

cost of nova build

wonder what the cost of the nova build will be coming out of there? I wonder if this is a budgeted project. :faint: Can't wait to see it, will it be at SEMA?

Smack_talker 05-27-2007 06:02 AM

Cant wait to see the finshed product. I'm sure it will be killer like troy's other build. You lucky #$^%&&^*)(_)__*&^%^%%$

notorious1970 05-28-2007 11:25 AM

Sema07

Not sure if it will make its way to Sema. Though that would be pretty fun! Last years show, Troy had a little bit of everything spread out in 4 booths. Our Nova is similar to the '66 chevy (hurricane) build so we'll have to see.

NOVA 05-28-2007 08:29 PM

Can you ask and see if they want to build another Nova right behind yours? should be a little cheaper since they'll have everything dialed in just getting yours done? be ALMOST like assembly line work!
So has Thrash master showed you guys any paint schemes yet?

Haha..Yeah shoud be cake after doing my dads car. Jareds going to know that thing in and out by the time its done.

Mr. Bob hasnt shown us any ideas for painting yet but I think Troy still has that Rogan paint job in the back of his mind. So time will tell. There is also one part of Rogans car that never actually made it on the cuda. It has been lurking around the engine bay of ours. Its large and it says "race only" on it. Thats all im sayin. :hail:

it was a blower of some sort.....procharger I think. I really dig the paint scheme they didn't use on the sick fish.

Heard some of the Camaro guys stopped by the shop. If so what did you think of the Nova thus far?

As of last week the tail lights where being fitted. This proved to be more work than originally thought. The problem is that Novas have a slight curve to them in the back. So you are trying to fit a straight light in a surface that is slightly curved. Rear bumper was also cut up in a bunch of places and refitted. Now its only protruding out of the body line about a 1/2 inch. All of the gapping has just about been complete. Once the rear end is complete the front will be the final part of the body work. The brakes finally arrived as well. They are baer 6 pistons with "rad rides" inscribed on them. They are massive, something like 15" front 14" rear. Check this out.

I'm one of the "Camaro" guys that stopped in. The Nova is going to be awesome. Troys work is incredible.

XcYZ 06-14-2007 06:58 AM

The car looks great. Not sure why I didn't take any pics of it, I had intended on doing so.

When we were there, Jarod was sectioning the rear Camaro bumper. Looks real clean.

Bill Howell 06-14-2007 08:36 PM

I got several pictures of it at Troys. I need to resize them before posting. Scott I could send them to you in a zip file, there are some other pictures in the group you would like also.

Cool, Bill. Send them on over to me or to Marty. I'm sure everyone here would love to see them.
