The Time Has Come!!!!!
Well I have begun the tear down process and the car is almost together again with the new narrowed 9", Baer disc conversion, Hotchkis sway bars, Global West trailing arms, and QA1 shocks and coil overs. Once the rear end is back in the car I need to get some good measurements so I can finalize my Forgeline VR3P order (thanks to Frank and Lisa at GP Superstore).......
Last pic of the car with 15" Cragars..... http://i16.tinypic.com/43zvcif.jpg Baers and QA1's on the front (keeping the stock control arms for now)..... http://i18.tinypic.com/2rc1zrb.jpg Rear tire fit check, 285/30-20 Toyo T1R (it will be tight) http://i12.tinypic.com/49ljg38.jpg Rear shot.... http://i13.tinypic.com/49a885c.jpg Definitely giving my floor a workout  |
Looking good!! How's the floor holding up?

Liken that alot. That big tyre under the rear looks sweet.
|
Right on, you gotta be stoked.
(I'm not even going bring up the topic of your garage floor this time. :D ) |
The floors are holding up! It is getting a few scratches but nothing major because I am trying to be careful. Hence the rags under the jack stands
Should get the rear end in it this weekend when I can get some help from my buddy. I will post some more pics when that is finished. |
Did you have to do any rolling or trimming to fit the 285 in the rear?
|
As of right now, not rolling or trimming, but it is going to be close. I bought the "Tire Mountmate" from www.autowaretech.com, so I can get really good measurements with the 285 series tire. I don't want to have to trim or roll anything.
|
Well the narrowed 9" is in the car and ready to go......

Looking really good! My dad is currently building his 72 SS.
I wish he does have $ for those Baer BBK set up! :) What wheels are you getting? |
I am going to go with a set of Forgeline VR3P's (all chrome) 19X8.5 front and 20X10 rear, if the rear will fit that.....

way cool!

Good choice on the wheels! Its going to look really sweet!
|
Thanks guys.... I am hoping it will look pretty slick, however....I am having some problems with ride height at the moment. Does anyone have any experience with Hotchkis 1" drop coils? The rear is way to high, and I am not sure if it is the coils and whether they will sag or not.
