Project Dusterbd
Been working on this project slowly for a year now, its a 1970 plymouth duster. Just wanna show some progress pics and the great condition of paint and body.
Overall body shots http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6...Overalshot.JPG http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6/8/4/3/Doorview.JPG Bought it this colour, no clear coat but in great condition http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6/8/4/3/Backhalf.JPG http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6/8/4/3/Rearbody.JPG Body is pretty straight too, not much cheese http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6...dystraight.JPG |
Interior mockup, still have to cut and fit carpet, position and bolt down seats
http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6.../Mockupint.JPG Made my own rear pad with wood and stereo carpet http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6/8/4/3/rearpad.JPG The 340ci, 455hp powerplant. http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6.../EngineIN1.JPG Recently dropped in, no tranny yet http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6.../EngineIn2.JPG The 904 tranny is half built, waiting for thrust washers. The 8 3/4 rear end is partially built, just have to set backlash and paint a pattern. Have to get the front disc brakes on, getting a sump welded in the tank. Still have lots of small and big things to go. |
Looks like a fun project  .

Well Im still not done yet even though its 2 years later. You know how it goes. I had to bring it to a shop for the stuff I couldnt do in my garage. Heres a small update of the exhaust and interior
Custom cluster http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6/8/4/3/cluster.jpg Shifter mounted, seats in, and cluster in place http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6/8/4/3/interior.jpg 3 inch all the way back with X pipe and 2 chamber flowmasters http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6/8/4/3/exhaust.jpg |
Small update
Engine is just about ready to fire up, and the wheels Im using. Excuse the bad quality, its using a cell phone camera. http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6/8/4/3/engina.jpg http://www.gtcars.ca/gallery/files/6/8/4/3/wheel.jpg Just a reminder this is a budget build that an average guy would do, no crazy custom fabrication, just make it look nice and go as fast as I can afford. |
Looks great! Almost there!
