Problems lowering my 71 mustang

I need some help working out the kinks on the front suspension of my 71 mustang. I have chosen the ride height for my car as 24 inches from the ground to the top of the wheel opening up front; that's a 3 inch drop. And have chosen 25 inches in the rear; a 2 inch drop. For financial reasons I have decided to stay with the stock suspension for the time being. At the advice of an over zealous salesman I purchased a template to lower the UCA attachment 1 inch, only to find out later this may not be the best choice for a 71. I had to install a negative roll kit to keep the upper ball joint from binding with the lowered ride height. This places the UCA at a pretty steep angle and the upper upper portion of the shock does not sit in the center of the mounting hole. The lower control arm is 1.25 inches from contacting the frame at ride height and the UCA rests on the stock jounce bumper.
I can fab a new jounce stop support but am concerned that 2 inches of bump travel is not sufficient. I don't want to alter the ride height but don't want an unsafe or poor performing car; hope to do some open track stuff occasionally. I've wondered if drop spindles might not be the answer. I am frustrated because I can't seem to find anyone who has done much with the 71-73's. Has anyone reworked the suspension geometry for the 71? I would appreciate any and all insight.

I did the shelby drop along with a 2" coil drop and the end result was about 2.5 inches of drop after it all settled. I am not an expert on the subject matter, but so far it has not presented any problems on the street. As for as reworking, I used the stock spindles and Global West arms along with the Baer bump steer rod ends. Here are a couple of pics.
