BIG engine blocks
 
Saw this the other day down in the ferryterminal (Ferries to Finland).

Kinda huge V18 engine blocks.

Must be from the Finish shipbuilder Wartsila that makes shipengines.

Cool. They're probably going into generators or smaller ships. Most of the really big container ship stuff are inline engines.

The funny thing is those are on the "small" side for Wartsila. :lol:

Staggering. That reminds me of that post of that Japanese Ship Engine that put out like 100,000 hp at 60 rpm or something......crazy

here is the top end of a MAN B&W 2-stroke turbo diesel, 14k98ME-C7, 14 cylinders, 98 centimeter bore (thats 38,58 inches of bore for the metrically challenged) stroke is 4.5 meteres (117 inches bore) and an output of 84280 kW or 113021 horsepower at 104 RPM!
