68 chevelle, What's it worth?

Stumbled across this 68 chevelle the other day and I was wondering what it was worth. The guy never said a price he just to me to make an offer. What would you fella's offer him for it?

Hello Melman,

I am going to offer my opinion based on what I have seen. A few years back I bought a 69 Chevelle that was not quite as rough as the '68 in picture. I paid $500.00 for it. I have came across some others since that time and have elected to pass on them. Mostly because of storing them. But I also passed because it's real easy to gather multiple projects with none finished. I have done this myself and have wished that I would have stuck to one car at a time. Other board members here whom have multiple projects may not feel the same. But I will say that if I had the place to store and the money to build them all, then I also would join that group. But I don't so I labor along on one project. Just try and keep your goals in focus. Bottom line I think this is a $500.00 car. And that is assuming it has a clean title. Good luck and let us know how it comes out.

Yeah I understand where your coming from, I was actually looking for a friend that lives in Southern California. I don't have the room or the money for it right now (even tho i wouldn't mind having it) I just sold all of my unfinished project cars to focus on building my 68 Camaro. I think it's worth about $500 myself. Thanks for your input

With today's market, $500-1000, on eBay, depending on how solid the car is, or isn't.

But for a couple $Ks more, you can find a MUCH easier project to start off with, that would save you/him money in the long run..

I'd personally RUN away from that car...

Melman,

Good idea, putting money into a '68 Camaro is well worth it. But some of us have to carry the A-Body banner.

Good Luck

Personely I would not want to give a $1,000. for it. There does not seem to be a single part that does not need to be restored or replaced. But if it is a southern car and the floor's and trunk along with the quarters and doors are solid. you just saved about 8 to 10,000. in parts and labor up here in the rust belt. So if it was up here guy's would pay a lot more. Even though they would still end up in over thier head in it. But then again nice Chevelle's are going for some serious money at the moment. Realy hard to say. well you guys have a great day. later Larry www,llcustomperformance.com

and I wouldn't give $500 for it. I paid $600 for a running, mostly rust free '72 Cutlass. Sure it's not a Chevelle but I think better deals can be made. I have a buddy that paid $500 for an ex-drag raced 72 Chevelle with no drivetrain a few years back. The only thing it was missing was the drivetrain. A good trip to pull-apart and it was up and running. This thing will take lots more.

Not even if it was free. JMO.

i dont think its worth it at all.. in the for sale section somone had a 68 camaro project for sale with 18000K worth of bolt ons... for somthing like 19000 bucks, thats a 68 for 1000 bucks, its straight and rust free... and all the parts you would buy anyway... all together in one package, only the fun part remains....

id stay well away from a project like the chevelle in the pics.. ...
