Old member with a new ride.. Plymouth RoadRunner
Well I sold my 70 Camaro a few years ago and have gone through a few cars since then, but I recently had the opportunity to buy back my old 1974 Road Runner that i restored back around 2001 so I jumped on it.
It’s a 1974 Plymouth Road Runner (yes it’s a Road Runner not a Satellite) It has a 383, 883 4 speed (with pistol grip) and an 8-3/4 rear with 3.91 gears. I am looking to upgrade the suspension, brakes, and most importantly the wheels and tires.. I know it’s a long shot, but these cars have HUGE wheel wells, does anyone know what width/backspacing and tire will fit back there? Anyway..here's a few photos of how it sits now (sorry they are not the best.. I'll get some better ones soon) http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...unner/Hag2.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...unner/Hag3.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...unner/Hag6.jpg |
hi, congrats for your new (old) 74 RR! ;)
the wheel wells of 74's RR are similarly with my 71 RR... i mounted on my RR 8x19 on the front and 10x20 rear...both with 4.75" backspace. i want to fit my wheels without any mods on body... with 235/35 ZR19 and 285/30 ZR20... and this looks like this... ;) http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o214/gionni78/34.jpg http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o214/gionni78/35.jpg http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o214/gionni78/46.jpg |
