What brand coilovers do you prefer and why?

This is for a driver that will see some auto x.

Bilstien or Penske if you have the cash.

i have total control products aka chris alston coilovers in the rear of my mustang love it. my fronts are global west they are 2 way afco performance shock with eibach springs and i love them too. only reason i didnt use the total control products set up in the front was i didnt like the way the top mount was.

I think they will be a "little" to far out of my price range. :(

I'm using QA1 Proma Stars on my car. Good pricing with nice build quality. I figure if Mark put them on the Mule, they will be just fine for me!

For an all out,class racing road race car I`d go with Bilstein GNIII or Penskes. For a fun track day,auto X and street car you can get 90% of the performance for a fraction of the cost with Alston Varishocks or some others. Hardcore road race car shocks won`t make your car a race car or you a race driver and that`s what it takes to wring out that extra edge they`d give you. We`ve worked with most brands over the years and I honestly think the Varishocks are the best quality,repeatability and performance for the buck. They`ve also got a lot of thoughtful features like one hand ride height adjustment (no big jam nut), adj. knobs broached with allen holes and an included ball end allen driver to you can reach the knobs easily without laying under the car or taking the wheels off etc. Mark SC&C

Do they make a double adjustable front coilover for a first gen f-body? What about a double adj shock for the rear?

Yes,and yes. :D We even recently released a new GM front coil over conversion that we`ve been working with Alston on for about a year now. It allows more jounce travel at lower ride heights than the previous package. In the rear you can use either QS2 double adj shock and the stock mounts or go to a G-Bar 4 link with QS2 coil overs. The DA adj. are great for dual purpose (street-road race/drag race) cars. For those who don`t need that much adj. the 16 setting QS1s still have a really wide adj. range, adj. both compression and rebound at the same time (most adj. shocks adj. only rebound) and they`re a lot more affordable.
