I have about 3 lifetimes worth of projects planned out in my head!
OK, I swiped the title from Wiedemab, but it got me thinking;
I also have a couple of lifetimes worth of projects, so I thought I would start a thread on them and let others join in. For my fist idea, how about an Oldsmobile version of the F-body? Take a '68 Camaro/Firebird and graft the wheel arches, and lower body treatment from a '66-'67 Toronado. Add the rear 1/4 tops & trunk lid from the same Toronado to make it a fastback. For the front end, think '69 Cutlass for the tops of the fenders, hood, and grill. Call it a Starfire GT for a bit of heritage. Join in guys, this could be fun. Besides, it might spark someone else's imagination and one of our ideas might make it into steel! Shiny Side Up! Bill |
my mind is a scare place just wish i had the money and place to build half the cars floating around my head.could post some of them and rough drawing maybe someone would build it.

In my head? Ha - not a safe place. How about a 79 Monte Carlo Gasser? Ladder bar rear all jacked up. Straight axle in front. Spindle mount front wheels. M&H racemasters in the back. Zoomies and an individual injector EFI.
Or an all out PT 69 beetle. Widened fenders, custom tube chassis to get 9 inch wide fronts and at least a 10 inch rear wheel. Mid-mounted engine with a Porsche 6 speed transaxle. Maybe one of Schwartz's twin turbo LS7's! |
A few of mine.
Here's what I can come up with off the top of my head.
'66 or '67 Chevy II - AME full frame (Max G) LS2, T56. somewhat stock appearing, keep all of the stock trim, Marina Blue '65 Rivi - Mostly stock - big wheels and Air Ride. These cars were just classic in stock form. '65 or '66 Mustang Fastback - TCP front with shockwaves, ART AirBar rear 18" wheels, healthy 331 Windsor, TKO600 etc. 2nd Gen Camaro - All DSE'ed out! VW Beetle - screeming VeeWee motor and some handling goodies. I don't know too much about these, but I'd learn That's just to name a few. My current project is a '52 Chevy Pickup, but with school and work, I can't seem to get much done on it. In line right after it is a '62 Olds F-85 Vert. I've got big dreams for this one. AME chassis, Northstar/Aurora V8 backed by a TKO. We'll see how the finances go. |

I've also wanted to do a late 40s/early 50s sedan, AME or some other modern chassis, one of those in-line 6's from the Chevy truck line, an auto, A/C, and a nice interior. Ultimate road trip car! Shiny Side Up! Bill |
And an other one comes to mind;
Chevy did an experimental Corvette fastback on the first gen ('53-'55). I always wanted to take a '57 'Vette (they make a repop) and graft a fastback roof like the one on the show car. Modern running gear, and some salt-flat looking wheels, maybe even make it a targa since the '57 windshield headder is made for a 'vert anyway. Shiny Side Up! Bill |
Here is a pic I found on the web of a stock F-85 Vert
http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-19...e-cream-ma.jpg The body lines are a little funky on them, but I like oddball stuff! |
that mustang idea sounds nice besides the tcp set up with airbags is just like stock the air bag mounts on the upper a arm like the stock spring better use a longer airbag and mount it to the lower a arm like most coilover kits rides and handles alot better.id love to do a true clone of this car http://www.exp500.com/gallery.html
