Derek69SS's Chevelle

We went out and took some pics tonight since the weather was absolutely perfect. Turned out pretty good, IMO.

Love those mirrors, Derek.

Wow, very nice!

Who took the pictures? I am going to assume you? I don't think Derek is capable of a picture like that. I have seen his work before...

Of course it wasn't me, I'm too short for high-angle shots... I can only do low-angle stuff. :D

How many times can I be in it?

BTW, for those interested in the specifics of the car, here's the rundown...

Paint & Body all done as a father/son project while I worked in Dad's body-shop while in High School. The colors are '94-96 Corvette "Dark Cloisonne Metallic", and GM "Arctic White" stripes. The mirrors are from a '95 Buick LeSabre.

Engine & Trans combo is a '95 LT1/4L60e from a Caprice state-patrol car, mostly stock w/ shorty-headers, a mail-order PCM tune, and 3000rpm Edge converter. I used a Speartech harness and Tanks Inc. in-tank fuel pump in the stock gas tank. Rear axle is 12-bolt 4:10 posi.

Brakes & suspension includes AFX spindles and SPC pro-lites up front, and C5 'vette rotors and calipers. The rear is all spherical stuff from wolfe racecraft and I put used LS1 F-body brakes in the rear. Next suspension-mod is SC&C lower A-arms as soon as they're available. :unibrow:

Tires & Wheels are 235/45 and 255/45 Kumho Ecsta MX's on 17x7 and 17x8 Billet Specialties

Interior is the next project... It's kind of embarassing the way it is now, so I'm tackling that this winter. It will be all new stock-appearing and switched to white with some subtle mods. :)

Looks great! What are you using for coil springs..the stance looks nice.

Derek69SS 08-31-2007 11:13 PM

Springs and shocks are dirt-track parts... front springs are AFCO 700# 5" x 9.5" with threaded "weight-jacker" adjusters from speedway motors used for adjustable ride-height. Rear springs are Tru-Coil 175# 5.5" x 11" single-pigtails. Shocks are AFCOs for street-stock class. It rides a bit rough, but the handling is incredible!
