TwinSting gets new wheels/tires and new stance!
Well, Mickey Thompson finally got the size rear tires I have been asking for (29x15x20) in the new SR Radials produced so I got them from them and then went ahead and made some new one-off wheels for the car. This set up not only looks much better, not really so pro-street anymore, but also lets the car work better as I was able to readjust the coilover setup on the rear and change the stance of the car.
I am now running 20x12 in the rear and 18x7 in the front with Mickey Thompson SR radials front and rear. http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...sfromfront.jpg http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...lsfromrear.jpg |
Looks awesome! How many miles do you have on her now! Haven't heard anything in a while but I am sure it has been a blast to own and drive!

Damn I love that car. Wheels look almost like the ones I was talking to dad about. I like it, love the stance.

Looks good. I prefer a smaller wheel in the rear like a 19", but your car is amazing. I am looking at doing a 66 vette in the next year or so. Also Tell me some info about your 1 pc door glass. I have vent windows. I missed the show that your car was built on.

Tim- Thanks. Car is very fun to drive but I have been to busy to enjoy or always choose to drive something else I guess. Only have had it out twice in the last year so she only has about 100 miles on her. I just took it to Hot August Nights in Reno though and drove all over Reno and had a blast.
Trayb- We custom built the door glass after removing the side vent windows. Boyd and I agreed it just cleaned the side up a bit. Only thing is you have to leave a small little area like where you would mount a mirror as the shape of the door would not allow glass that full size to roll down. But if you look at almost all cars with one piece glass they have that piece where the mirror goes just for that same reason. Be glad you didn't see the shows as they showed little of the 3 years of build and fabrication that went into this car!! If you ever need parts for your car email/pm me I have some good sources. Frank- Yes, they are very similar to the ones you and dad were talking about. |
any pics from the reno deal...i heard there was another car there with ya:D

Looks great!
Need me to come out and shoot some new pics for ya? :D The new tires/wheels really changes the look of the car. |
Steve- Any time you are in this area and you need some practice shooting pics of cars you call me and you can shoot mine anytime. I could use some good ones of it now. The ones I have that you did before are terrific but I think the car looks a lot better now. This is how it was supposed to be but M/T was just behind on getting the tires.
Race-Rodz- I will find some pics from Reno with the "other" car included also!! We had a great time and the 57 looked great! |
The new wheels look great. Doesn't have as much of the Pro-Street look anymore. (although I did really like it)
Got a shot from the rear? :unibrow: |
i like the car not a fan of huge rims but each there own
