"SEMA Thrashers" interviews

Hey there -

Seeing that much of the car building world is currently up to their eyeballs in SEMA projects this time of year, we thought it would be cool to follow the builds of some cool projects. Alas, we don't have the budget to fly to every shop to shoot video interviews, so we got us a cheap Skype IP phone line and recorded some conversations with a variety of cool car builders and posted them on our new forum page.

We didn't think the world really needed another forum, but we wanted to post these interviews in an area where people could respond and post their own questions for the builders, as we're going to be talking to them weekly until we feature the cars finished at SEMA.

Today, we have interviews on line with:

- Frank Serafine at Prodigy Customs - Project "Empty Nest"
- Kenny Davis @ Kenny Davis Hot Rods - 1969 Camaro
- Steve Strope @ Pure Vision Design - 1972 Ford Torino GT
- Troy Trepanier at Rad Rides by Troy - 1940 Ford, although the conversation is mostly about the Ridler car

We've got several more interview subjects lined up as well we're going to add later this week, and then we'll be posting follow-up calls with these guys as time allows.

So we invite you to check 'em out in the SEMA Thrash board, and feel free to register and post your feedback.

Thanks!

- Kevin Oeste

Awesome idea. I listened to the Steve Strope piece. I feel like I'm eavesdropping.:_paranoid Keep up the good work with regards to your web presence. Call me about advertising on your site.

Thanks!

Thanks, Steve - I appreciate the positive feedback.

The interviews are fun to do, and we don't edit anything out... the Troy piece is great... it's a little left of PG, but it's the real deal.

And thanks for the encouragement on the web deal... although it's pretty ridiculous to see a forum (launched about 3 hours ago, btw) with nothing in it!

We're still a video site, with new content going up daily, of course with SEMA being 7 weeks away, we're going crazy with our own project, but we have lots of other cool stuff going on all the time. I'll chat with you soon!

I listened to the Troy and Kenny interview, it was pretty cool.

It kind feels like a CIA wire tap, or something.

Awesome idea Kevin - really enjoyed that ! YOU sir have hit on a way cool concept !!

Gives you a much better appreciation for all the hard work that goes into these cars and the ideas and talent needed to pull it together. Love the behind the scene info these crazy guys provide.

(Brush the firewall paint with scotchbrite and satin clear it - somebody's been drinking way to many Alabama beers my friend ! Loved it !!)

THANKS !

Jim

Thanks Jim,

That's what it's all about. Usually 90% of this stuff gets edited out of magazine or TV interviews, but there's great info buried in the stories.

We've got more coming, so stay tuned!
