Got to hand it to Autometer...again.

I've been really lazy lately... very lazy. Waited 6 months to install a digital speedo in the camaro after the 6 speed swap.

I have the Covan's dash kit which came with the wiring harness. I had been using a mechanical speedo for a while now and was kinda worried about all the wiring hassles.

Wow, what was i waiting for?!? The autometer setup and wiring harness were darn near perfect. I had the pigtail all setup and just hanging there, waiting to be used, except one lead that was easy to modify an existing connector to fit inside the pigtail. Other than that, one wire to sending unit on the transmission, one to a ground. And bingo bango... speedo!! :D

The calibration was simple too, hold a button, let go, drive for 2 miles (used highway mile markers) push button again. Done.

 <--- To Autometer.

I'll be swapping out my speedo for an electronic unit from AutoMeter as well. I've been hearing that it's really easy to calibrate.

That's cool, I still have to calibrate my speedo as well, didn't know it was that easy.

I was just as surprised as you guys are.

The instructions are 5 steps. And one of them is "Drive the car 2 miles".

When I bought my Camaro, the previous owner had installed Autometer gauges in the Covan dash but never calibrated the speedo. I downloaded the instructions off their site and viola! Shortly after that I changed the rear gear to 3.73 and had to do it again, but man it doesn't get any easier than pushing a button and driving 2 miles.

Another beautiful feature of the calibration is that you do not have to drive the 2 miles non stop. because the speedo is counting pulses it will still be accurate.

Exactly, i was stopping, starting, stopping a bunch of times during the 2 miles. i watched the speedo bounce up and down during the entire trip. Worked out wonderfully.
