TV on the Web: V8TV
Television and hot rodding seem to be at odds with each other. As a mainstream medium, TV programming tends to be diluted and unrealistic in an effort to appeal to the masses. Quality shows like "Dream Car Garage" or "Rides" get cancelled while junk shows like "American Hot Rod" and "Pimp My Ride" prosper. Time has told the tale: Mainstream audiences want bogus hot rod shows. Poopie. Furthermore, you are at the mercy of the TV Channel's progamming schedule. The channel tells you when to watch and what to watch. And there's a good chance that the channel is dishing out the same re-run again.
But there is a viable alternative available for true enthusiasts: V8TV!!!! Kevin and Kelle Oeste have lost their TV deal. It's no fault of theirs. The channel went out of business. And it's the best thing that could have happened to this outstanding couple and their small business. V8TV's solution is to bypass your television altogether and pipe quality TV show programming directly to your personal computer via broadband. It's television on your PC. And it's television when you want it. You can pick and choose the content that you want to watch. You can watch episodes at 2AM on a Sunday or 2 PM on a Thursday. Don't care about their '62 Ford Galaxie build? Skip it. Click anywhere on their site and you will most likely find video based content. There are print articles and a message board as well. But what sets V8TV apart from other websites is their ability to capture real car guy (and gal) content in motion. They present real car building challenges--not bogus drama. and just like advertiser paid television, V8TV webshows are free. Please support V8TVshow.com by watching content on their site and frequenting their advertiser's websites via banner links. And if you are a manufacturer or parts dealer, be sure to contact Kevin or Kelle directly concerning advertising. Viewers will be captivated by lengthly content, so your ads will be seen. Thanks for looking /Steevo |
I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin and Kelle at Run Through the Hills 3 this past weekend and I agree completely that we all need to support them! They make the show we all want to watch and I for one really appreciate their hard work.
These are real car people that want to further our hobby and give us all the kind of entertainment that we crave...I will be sending more time on their site for sure knowing this news. Good luck Kevin and Kelle!!!!  Matt |
Thanks!
Wow Steevo,
Thanks for the generous plug! (Where do I send the check!?) We're truly honored. You hit the nail on the head, we're real car people working on real cars, and posting video along the way. As you pointed out, we think the best access to enthusiasts is via the web, so you can watch what you want when you want to. We welcome everyone to stop in an say hello in the forums and let us know what you think of the show, and check out the interviews and stuff there. We're working on providing the kind of content real gearheads like, and who knows... maybe we can partner up on a project - (did somebody say Lateral-G TV?) Check the site often, we're up to our belts again in the SEMA thrash, so we're posting nightly updates on the '69 Chevelle project. OK, back to work. Thanks again for the support! Steve, I owe you a beer (or 10) at SEMA! - KO |
Cool! :woot:
When you want something done right, do it yourself. Now just remember not to sell out when TV owners come crawling back once they see how successful you have become. Mal |
I watched a ton of videos yesterday. Great Job, Kevin and Kelle. It's nice to see "real" both in front of AND behind the camera. Take the time to watch the videos guys, if you haven't already.
