lokar

hey guys, what part numbers have you used to change over to lokar throttle cable? i assume you had to go with there pedal assembly so you could ditch the factory bulky linkage, please let me know what you used, or alternative that is easy to install in a finished car.

Shame you didn't say something last week Jake. You rode right by Lokar when you went thru Knoxville the other day, that is where they are based.

Jake, I've got some stuff in stock here. Sent you a PM.

I used the following part numbers...

throttle cable: LOK-TC-1000HT
return spring bracket: LOK-SRK-4000

I have NO problems and the throttle is smooth. On the cable itself, I removed the clevis that came with the assembly and used the ball fastened to my factory pedal.

Hope that helps,
Kevin

Did not see if it was a carb or efi

Anyway, on a 1st gen car if you are trying to keep the pedals looking stock you can use a 1st gen 6 cylinder gas pedal. They were cable operated from the factory. You may have to tweak the arm where the cable conects to the pedal if you are using efi to get the ratio right. Real easy to do. You can use a lokar cable to the 6 cyl pedal.

Or Lokar makes a pedal that bolts into the stock location and then use one of their cables.

I paid $50 for a 6 cyl pedal, which I still have, and paid maybe $100 ( not sure) for the lokar pedal...which I did use.

Hope this helps

did the srk 4000 come with the springs, and will it mount the throttle cable at the carb? thanks guys

Jake you need this bracket instead of Lokar's, looks better and accepts Lokar cables. The pedal assembly is BAG-6095. If you want MODO's pedals instead of Lokar's they have a pedal adapter kit for the Lokar gas pedal. I can get you everything but the Lokar gas pedal. The carb bracket is $76.

Yes, to both questions. It came with the springs and it bolts to the back left carb mount stud. The pic attached shows the diagram. I'm running a 5 speed so I did not have to run the kick-down cable shown in the diagram.
