rear end question
i have a 63 ford galaxie and it has an original 9 inch rear end i and i put discs on the rear and i had problems with the axles wobbling so therefore i couldnt use my disc brakes in the back i added new currie axles and it still does the same thing i tried it with just the tire mounted and the tire did the wobbling actions like it did with me just watching the rotors themselves could my housing be at fault and all the bearings and everything are new so if anybody could give me some helpful info on thisid appreciate it
bent rim? warped rotor?
did you replace the axle bearings when you replaced the axles.
everything on the axles are new, everything inside the axle housing is orginal about 44 years old
Are the bearing races tight inside the housing? Does it do it on both sides?
yes they are, ive been told by some its the housing, some its the third member
if i wasnt sure the housing is straight try puting a level on the housing flanges turn it in a full 360 see if it stays level if the housing is bent or broke it should show up there.since everythings that old id fully strip it replace every bearing in it and rebuild or replace the 3rd member.
yeah im thinking about starting from scratch and redoing everything or maybe just buying one and putting it together myself
thats a weird one
I hear a fab 9 housing calling someones name |
