Revenge....sort of
Well, you guys remember this?
https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=1092 Got the 9" back in the car last night. It is nice and quiet now. Just out on the road when a white late model Mustang GT stopped along side of us. He goosed his engine, then rolled down the window with the head nod. I reached down for L1 as the wife said "Don't forget to shift this time...." Light turned, we rolled out and nailed it on all clear. I still hit the rev limiter before I knew it and was a tad slow shifting but in the process smoked the mustang :D He came past me later and gave me a wave and a big smile, then rolled his window and sped off. Ah... I feel much better now. |
Sinner.... :D

Ahh, gratification! :D That thing must really rev fast, Chris. What's the ratio on the ring and pinion?

Thats what its all about right?

It is only a 3.5 with a 2,800 TCI stall converter. The engine is a 2000 LS1 with SLP prepared Z06 heads, SLP custom ground cam, big injectors, LS6 intake, custom tuning, headers, X pipe, Imco mufflers and a cold air intake. I don't have many miles on it yet so I am just trying to get a feel for the whole car. I have never had a V8 rev like this thing does. I really need a shift light so I can bump it into the next gear without having to watch the dash, the street, the other car, etc. etc. etc. I think that would take care of the problem. Especially when I take it to the track, I could lose major ET by letting it pause for a second in rev limit protection mode. The thing is, it does not have a point where it feels like it quits pulling right into redline. All my other cars have had a point where you can feel the pressure in the seat let up just a hair under 6,500. I think this is part of my problem too. Also, the exhaust is fairly mild and I don't have enough seat time yet to know where the sweet audible spot is yet either. Sinner? Yep, I guess so, but I have a remedy for that: Yea, though I drive through the boulevard of Mustangs, I shall not fear Thy Rod and thy Piston will comfort me. Thy Camshaft and Valve timing will protect me. Thy torque and gears will leadeth me to a place in front of the other car. Thy Goodyear tires will support me............................... |
