Stick with LS1+turbo, or buy Crate SBC?

Ok i am faced with a bit of a dilemma.. i have a nice low mile 02, LS1 with A4 and a single turbo setup, including large IC and related parts that was going in my Malibu... but there seems to be a millinon small clearance issues that will cost money and take time to sort out... And ite engine and turbo should fetch a good price over here if sold as is... infact almost enough money to finance a big Hp SBC, like a shafiroff ultrastreet 434... so should i stick with the LS project and weld and fabricate.. a winter and then some.. or just buy an ultrastreet SBC that installs in a day??

the 434 does sound nice, but you have to look at it this way LS1's with turbos are just plain eye candy. Plus once you get a turbo ls1 install done you can sit back and look at it and say "Hey I did that". Plus who dosent love boost

Plus in Denmark how many Malibus w/ LS1 do you see? You bought the LS1 to be different, don't go back now.

Plus the all aluminum motor is lighter than the SBC. It may take a bit more effort but everything worthwhile usually does. I say keep the LS1 (like my opinion matters  ).

very good points indeed.... i guess the prospect of tearing an SBC out and messing arround with all that wiring, bracket making, cpu reprograming and so on just got the better of me.... but i guess just the sound of that 50mm Tial BOV is worth the effort.... it just gets very alone in the shop in the winter time... mabe i need some hang-arrounds to drink my beer, fetch my tools.. and keep me on track LOL

EFI SBC, like an LT-1 or something similar. LSX's are awsome, but there is NOTHING wrong with a first or second-gen SBC and hey.... it actually fits!
