So I just spent all this money minitubbing my car, and installing the quadra-link and it got me thinking... Has anyone actually gone out and run performance tests on any of these cars/parts? Maybe skidpad tests, slalom, etc?
I know there is obviously a ton of variability between cars and all, but it would be pretty cool to see what the car COULD be capable of...
I KNOW a lot of people would be interested in this kinda stuff.

I believe that Kyle Tucker had posted some performance data on the DSE "Test Car" - The Blue 69 (Stacy's car) equipped with the Qlink and their front sub...But, I forgot where....gettin' old I guess.

I had exactly same in my mind and i did a lot of search and asking around. I am really happy i did! I think i saved a lot of money by just going traditional minitub route, my car will be 99% street driven and i ever go to track i dont believe i couldnt feel the difference.

Oh, well I'm not having like buyers remorse or anything. I'm still very satisfied with my decision to go with the quadra-link. I'm just curious how the cars compare.

I think Steevo is doing some before/after testing with the current pace car project...we were talking about it a few months ago. He did say that even though his auto-x times (DSE leafs) were almost as good as the DSE Test (Q-Link) car you just can't compair the two ride quality wise.

Jason also loved the Q-Link in Fuel...you'll be pleased!!

That is the sticking point right there. There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of variables, all the way from Tire size to Driver ability to corrected altitude....It would be exceedingly difficult to put anything out there with any kind of accuracy. A back-to-back test on one car with all the variables the same would be a way to get some measure of how much improvement any given package could give you, but that would even be flawed to varying degrees depending on how modified the rest of the car is. Our front clip on a car with crappy tires may not make as much of a difference in skidpad numbers percentage-wise as our clip on a car with big tires. As has been said before, there are a lot of very nice parts out there that will make a huge difference in how your car works, and most of us will never get to the full potential of our cars ability. If it feels better and drives better be happy with it!
I remember when I bought my street bike, a friend was trying to steer me to another because it had 6 more hp....like I could EVER tell that 6 hp was there...same idea.

But either way, it would still be pretty great to have something to compare to.
If you look at most of the bigger name completed cars, like the mule, camaro x, fuel, red witch, bad penny, they all share a lot of the same (or similar) parts and components, just presented in a different way.
To be able to say that X subframe coupled with X rear suspension setup running X tires achieved 20 billion lateral G's on a skidpad with evidence would be pretty cool info to have on hand.

Many months ago DSE did a before and after on either there rear end set up or there sub frame. it was in one of the mags like super chevy or sonething, not hot rod or phr. I cant remember but i think they then had a follow up with the other parts. I think it was back in Nov, Dec of 06

I have driven and rode in three of the cars mentioned above, one on a road course with Mark Stielow driving. The Mule and Camaro X have the Quadralink style rear suspension. Camaro X is bar none the most comfortable driving 69 Camaro I've ever been in, extremely well sorted out. The Mule pulled over one G lateral with Mark and I in the car at Thunder Hill according to Marks test equipment; this was on street tires and two occupants.

The Red Witch is very close in ride quality and handling to the Mule and has leafs. Not as adjustable and probably not as good at 10/10's, but Mark, DSE, and many others have gone very fast with leafs.

All that said, I think you'll be very happy with the Quadralink.

Tons of performance data has been made available over the past coupla years by magazines and performance driving events. Do searches on "slalom", skidpad, "auto-x", "autocross", "lap times", etc. These threads are usually found in the open discussion sections of our favorite sites.
