Assembled Engine dimensions...

Does anyone have any insight on where I might be able to find some blueprints/diagrams of an assembled LS2 and a 260/289/302 Small block Ford?

The main reason I ask is because I am planning on transplanting a stroked LS2 + 6 speed in-place of my current 302 + C4 auto in my 1964 Fairlane, but I have to see how viable a choice this is in terms of space (I'm not really keen on cutting too much to make room ).

i have measured loosely to check if the LS1 could replace the 5.0 in my 65 coupe.. and it looks close but possible... it even looked like the SBF headers could work with the LS1 with some new flanges.... not sure what the x-member looks like on the fairlane.. but on the mustang, the stock f-body oilpan seemed to clear no probs...

Good to hear.

My oil pan is a front-sump and the cross member is just tubular steel which bolts to both engine mounting pads, so modifying that isn't much of a concern to me. I was simply worried about how much dimensionally longer and/or wider the LSx's are, because that's where a ton of fabricating and cutting work comes in if need be.

In any event, I was counting on having to make my own headers and completely re-plumbing and smoothing everything out, so no worries there.
