Wheel search
Hi everyone,
I'm new here and I've just purchased my first project car. It's a 69 Firebird and I'm looking for some killer wheels for it. I want an 18" five spoke Fikse style brushed or powter coated wheel that's not insanely expensive. Any thoughts? thanks |

I have the polished tork thrust 2's on my 69 firebird, they look awsome.. 17/8 front and 17/9.5 on the rear. Great look for the price... besides you could always have the centers powder coated.

I'm sure we can help you out on a wheel choice. What kind of budget do you have for wheels

will those wheels fit my car? will I need to roll my fender lips?
|
my budget is about 2k total for wheels and tires
|
oops- ya that's probably too wide of wheel for stock openings, I would check out old threads about getting the right backspacing and tire size- somebody on this board has to have something for you-Chris

I think Budnik Laterals fit the bill...but you are going to be hard pressed to do 18" tires and wheels for 2k. Do you have plans to mini-tub the car?

Here's an option for you, that won't break the bank.. 18x7 and 18x8 TorqLite's by American Racing. I can do wheels and tires for way less than your budget. (Like 500 dollars less!) What do you think?
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e9...Lite18s006.jpg Another option might be the Steet Smart Line from Billet Specialties: https://www.newstalgiawheel.com/imag...W_1128_250.gif These run about 1500 for the wheels, and with tires, we can get you damn close to, or just under your 2k budget for 18's. Let us know... |
those Billet Specialties are really nice. How wide can I get by with on the rear?
