ATS/Lee box or DSE on my 69 Z?
Just curious if anybody had a preference, or which is the best....opinions would be appreciated..12.7:1
Thanks |
From what I've been reading, the Lee box hands down.
|
ATS sells the Lee boxes too. Not sure if DSE re works the ones they sell.

I got a Lee box after originally seeking an AGR. Mike at Muscle Rodz gave me a quick education and then Mark at Savitske Classic & Custom talked me through a lot more detail on several of the brands/options (http://www.scandc.com/leesteering.htm). Both of their advice seamed to be validated by searching this post and others. Subsequently my friend also bought a Lee. It'll be a little bit before I'm on the road with it but I will say the feedback I have found has been good.

I wrestled with what to do myself for weeks and finally went with this option. It was perfect, drives great, couldn't be happier and I loved the price. I hated to seem cheap on a $50k car but the other high priced options just didn't seem justified. It worked out wonderful.
Here is the link to what I did, although I did not write it. http://69camaro.nextmill.net/steering.html Sharky1967 1967 Camaro, 750 hp Procharged 406, first Procharger SBC serpentine system they finished as seen at SEMA 2006 |

You guys had better luck with the 3rd gen box then I. I followed all the llinks, got the right part number box, etc.
Steering was fast, but had abolutly no feel. Could turn the wheel with my pinkie finger. Would of rather had the manual box. Putting a Lee box on my next project. |
I just ordered the Lee 800 box from SC&C 5 minutes ago! Happy Ho Ho to me!:woot:
