t56 swap
 
I found a t56 in the local rag that had been built to go in a Ford kit car. The seller indicated to me that I just needed to change the bell housing for my 99 LS1 camaro engine. i am going to install these into my 67 camaro project. Is he telling the truth or not? Thanks for your time..

may or may not be telling the truth. The LS version T56 has a different length input shaft than say the LT1 version T56, otherwise they look the same. You'll obviously want the LS version for yours. You'd need to know which trans they used, and I'm sure the numbers off the case would tell you that. The LT1 version without bellhousing is about 5.25" long from the flange the bellhousing bolts to, to the tip of the input shaft. The one you want should be closer to 5.75" or so.
