The New ZR1
Start saving up. Anyone here going to get one?

The thing is downright scary in its acceleration....an absolute monster. It looks even better in person, and the wheels could be the best design on a production car ever. Money well spent...

Man, I what I wouldn't give to hear it doing WOT blasts on the north-south straightaway.
GM rated the C6ZO6 at a top speed of 198. Has anything been said of the top speed of the ZR-1? Just curious as it makes A LOT more power. |
Scott, from the performance tab on the chevrolet site - * With its 600+ horsepower LS9 supercharged V8, ZR1 is capable of 200+ mph on the test track
That is my favorite Vette to date! Can't wait to see what the other automakers do to try and compete... I so want to see the new ZR1 and Skyline on the TRACK!!!!! |

The exposed carbon fiber is killer!
http://images.motortrend.com/feature...rbon_fiber.jpg http://images.motortrend.com/feature...ill_plates.jpg I'm sure the rotors and calipers are real cheap, too. :willy: http://images.motortrend.com/feature...bo_caliper.jpg |
Actually...Those exact same brakes are a $20,000 option on a Ferrari 599 (According to the Corvette Chief Engineer) 15" out back, and 15.5 up front..Carbon-Ceramic....and here is another interesting quote from the Detroit Free Press...
"It took years to develop the clearcoat for the carbon-fiber because sunlight degrades the material over time. The coating, which only the ZR1 has, uses a special additive to prevent that. The additive alone costs $60,000 a gallon, while the mixture of clearcoat and additive applied to the roof costs $2,200 a gallon." 100K is a bargain...of course, they will probably be selling for 200K+ |
I am also digging the CF. Did anybody notice the oil squirters and dowels for the crank on a production block? WOW...
