Hi All, I was browsing this site out and saw a thread on lurkers so figured I'd register. I haven't spent much time on the forums but have visited the home page and browsed through the features on occasion over the past year or so. I am a hobby painter w/ a full time job in the paper industry.

I have a homebuilt '65 Mustang that I finished around '99 and have only done a few minor things to since that time. It's sorta "dated" pro-touring (all the parts for the build were purchased around '96):( ,,,,,,,,, there's alot more cool parts to choose from nowadays.........

My car is a plain jane '65 coupe that I added the GT trim to along w/ a spoilered decklid and cowl hood, filled all unused holes, welded all seams underhood and relocated the wiring, Pony Interior, GT-40 crate motor, t-5z 5sp w/ hydraulic clutch, Currie 9" w/3.50 gears and '98 Explorer rear disc, flaming river quick ratio box, negative wedge kit, beefier sway bars,,,, Car had Vintage wheel works V45 16X8's on it when I first built it but I added 17X8 TTII's last year (Yes I know everyone has 'em ,,,, but I still like 'em:yes: ).

Here's a recent pic.

Nice Mustang...and welcome to the forum.

I like it! It really has a timeless look to it, I would not have guessed it was an 8 year old build with parts more than 10 years old.

Great car!

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Yeah, the build has aged pretty well. I'm not ashamed to drive it yet anyway.;)

If I were building it today there are a few things I'd do differently. Minitub, coilovers on the front, satin black engine bay yet still smoothed,etc......

Truth is I stay so busy doing sidework on other peoples rides that I don't have time available to tear back into mine and since it runs, drives and still looks presentable it's best to just leave it be.

I paint alot of drag cars and goofy stuff like this as a hobby.

The next build I do for myself will most likely be a GM product. Starting to miss my C5 Vette a little these days.

There aren't too many guys into the G-Machine thing here in southeastern Va.

Closest thing to pro-touring I've had a chance to work on in the past few years is my friend Dougs '67 Camaro w/ a Tremec, Baer brakes and hydraboost.
