Staggered Rims Size or Same???
Just looking for your opinions again...
What would you guys use on a 70's challenger/cuda build 1. staggered 19/20's or 2. 20's all around??? Thanks PS--The new shelby/challenger/camaro's will all be available with 20's on all four wheels I'm pretty sure....just food for thought. |
I think once you get past 18s staggered looks better. I'm sure you'll get very different opinions on this one.

Im not a fan of big rims i won't go over a 16 unless to clear the brakes. But each there own.

You need to stagger to keep some sidewall in the front. Viper 19/18 stagger Vetter 19/18 stagger ZR1 20/19 stagger
|
Depends on the car.

I'm with Vegas69.
The Challenger and Camaro concept cars were staggered diameters for style and aesthetics but I suspect going same all the way around on the production cars was an economic move to keep them relatively affordable as well as having huge front wheelwells engineered from the offset to allow for them but no-budget supercars like what Vegas69 mentioned and many many others all run staggered diameters. It also helps allow extra room for steering up front as well while still getting down low. If you were going 18s all the way around, then I wouldn't stagger because 18s will fit up front but if the rear diameter crowds the front like a 20 would, then default to a stagger like the supercars. |
I'm a big fan of keeping the same sidewall height front and rear...and filling the fender wells at the same time. Some cars you can do this with the same diameter wheel and others need to be staggered.
What I don't like is going overboard on rear wheel/tire height just to tuck the wheel...ya know the Muscle Machines look! I'm more about function...not what todays trend is...trends don't last, I try to stay more timeless with my builds. |
