Look at what I scored today. 3-link rear end!
Well, I was out with a friend yesterday treasure hunting at the local salvage yards. I saw a pile of 9" rears and found this one. Factory 3 link, disc brakes, and has these cool vented backing plates. The best part, $175.
It says removed from 76 Lincoln but I don't beleive it. It has a speed sensor on the yoke which I think is ABS or cruise. Either way, I could not pass up for the Camaro. It will be way easier to install than the 12 bolt I was going to use. I won't be using the offset link. I will be using a center link so I can retain back seats. Now to get this thing stripped and mounted under the car! Mike |

http://www.kevinstang.com/Ninecase.htm conventional wisdom is that the 9 3/8 is not as strong as the 9". but the center sections are swappable, and you have 31 spline axles. but probably a 2.50:1 or 2.75:1 ratio. some more info re: 9 3/8": http://www.racecheep.com/Rear%20Tags.html also see this article about taking the rear out of a 76 lincoln: http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...cs/index.shtml |
Great info. Especially the first site. It is a standard 9" small bearing, but I will be converting to big bearing ends. I am still looking for a later id chart to decifer the tag.

it is but will be getting new moser axles and guts. It will also be narrowed some. I was just happy to find a housing already set up as a 3 link. I also love the vented backing plates.
