Front Drive pully system

Who has the best setup for AC ALT and Power Steering....keeping it compact.....Billet Specilties and Vintage Air are the only two I know about....one of them is 2300.00 or so for a SBC

I recently had to research and install a complete belt drive setup on my wagon. After a lot of looking, I decided on a complete setup from Jones Racing Prodcuts.

It was developed on the track, and is reliable on the street too.

They are awesome to work with and will create what you need if they don't stock it. Their stuff is modular so it can be updated down the road.

Everything I got from them bolted up without any headache and fit like a glove. It works great and looks bad-ass too. If you're planning to set up a front belt-drive system, look over what Jones has before laying out cash to anyone else. Trust me.

Oh- and I wouldn't recommend Synister products to anyone. They simply don't deliver what they promise.

Have you thought about raiding the junkyard? Would be alot cheaper. $2300 is too crazy IMO.

Junk Yards

Yea i thought about it..........I think all of those systems are way over priced and I dont mind spending money but ..your right........spending over 2000.00 is way out of whack.......here come the Chineese...that will be the next stuff we will see and I am not a fan of that either.

"Way over priced"?

You have to consider what it actually costs to be in business to produce a low volume machined product like the Billet Specialties, Synister, DSE, etc, etc front drive systems.

The machine work and finish on these components is of extremely high quality, both in terms of dimensional precision, and level of cosmetic quality, and that does NOT come cheap as anyone in the machined parts business can attest.

The overhead, in terms of the direct cost of skilled labor and automated multi-axis machining centers is by no means trivial. (there's no toothless guy carving these things out on a rusty old Bridgeport, for beer money).

Add to that the fact that you are also getting a fully polished A/C compressor, a very good alternator, and a compact P/S pump, and the bottom line is that NO ONE is making a "killing" selling these systems for $2000 or so, I can assure you.

And before you ask, no, I don't work for any company that manufactures such systems. -Rob

I think you have a valid point Rob! Most people that are sticker shocked need a reminder that you do get all new accessories too. It is a lot of money though and some do cost more than others.....

I on the other hand don't even get to play since I have a LT1....so I run the stock F-Body bracket and stock accessories.

Not the most bling, but stout and cheap. Low mounts too.
