69 camaro steering box

hello
can any one tell me what steering system is best, lee or dse steering box or the unisteer power rack & pinon. what would you all recomend for me to use,
money is no option to me.

i would like the best set up for my resto mod.
i have a small block dart 450 cu. engine 650+ hp in a 69 camaro and the headers did not clear with the engine the car came with. i'm a bite concern about the header hitting the steering box. (don't want to crush the tube) but my main problem is the slop in the steering.
can any one help with this. i'm new in the resto world...

thank you :( :( :(

tony

Our ATS 670 box is going to be the best bang for buck. We have slightly different specs on our box than if you were to go to Lee directly. We have a specific valving setup and internal tolerance to our boxes that you can't find anywhere else.

thanks but i'm thinking of going with unisteer power rack.
what do you think about that set up is it beter than the steering box set up?

I was going to put another recommendation in for the ATS 670 box - which I feel is your best performing option with a stock subframe - but judging by your response you are more interested in going the rack route.

I think the short answer to that question would be - IMHO - nothing. With stock subframe packaging the rack offers no improvement/benefit. The search function is probably your friend here...

I would personally stick with a box on a stock frame but that is my 2 cents.

tylers (ats) box is a built by lee specifically for him...
dse and tylers box are the same thing just tyler takes brand new boxes has lee open them up and make them even better... imo the choice is simple.

Humbly disagree - the dse and ATS boxes are not the same thing at all. Tylers box is probably the best designed (by Tyler) and built (by Lee) power steering option that is available "off the shelf" for the first gen's. Just because they are both 600 series boxes doesn't make the equal.

Give Tyler a call and talk to him about his steering box.
