Need some advice....

Hello all, I've been lurking around here for a while and realy enjoy the site and some of the cars here are amazing. I own a 71 Cutlass conv. its my family crusier fits 6 with the bench and the last time I went on a road trip pulled down 21mpg with the stock 350/350, I didn't plan on going all out on the suspension rebuild. A friend bought the Hotchkis TVS for his Chevelle and has chosen not to use it and is willing to sell it to me at a heck of a deal, the questions I have are is the ride harsh? What do you suggest on shocks I know Hotchkis has the Bilstein that are valved for this kit but I don't want to spend $400 for those shocks. Will I be sorry if I went the cheap route with KYB wishing I spent the extra dough? Thanks

Compared to stock. yes, they are considered harsh. Some will argue this but would you put that $400+ on chance.

If its a crusier a nice set of springs and Monroe sense-a-tracks would be just fine.
