1st Gen IRS kit

Looking for an IRS kit for my 67' Camaro RS/SS ? I know Wayne Due used to make them but has since closed his doors. If there is anyone who can help me or send me some dimensions of theirs so I could have it fabbed I'd appreciate it greatly  !

I can possibly help. I have a '68 Convertible with an LS2/T56 and the C4 rear. As you know Wayne Due is no longer in business so I, too, worked hard with trying to come-up with a template. Thanks to this and other forums I was able to do so. There's some good people out there!!!

I've got enough steel to make two kits and I only need one. My problem is that I'm not a welder so I need to farm this out. Wayne charged ~$750 for his set-up. I think I can do it for far less than that but I don't know how much it will cost me to have it fabricated.

How quickly do you need it?

Jeff

Not too quickly money is an issue right now ! I only have $300 saved up right now but maybe in a couple of moths I could have about $500-600. If you could do it for around $400-450 or so that would be great I could just borrow soime cash from my dad(his procharged 6sp 1990 C4 is just about done).

I really appreciate your help. www.WilsonMuscleCars.com (check out this site) is doing a kit too but he's going to charge around $995 which isn't that bad for the quality and ease of the mounting of everything. Plus he's a really helpful and a cool guy too ! But if can get it cheaper then I'm all for it  .

Thanks Chris:

I was just down in Phoenix this week... 80°F on Weds. was awesome!!! I live in WA State. Let me dive into this a little deeper to see what's involved and I'll keep your offer in mind. With Wayne out of the picture it would be nice for someone to offer these as I see a fair number of people still asking for them.

With the weather warming up I will be able to get more inspired! I can't see it being too expensive to make as the steel is relatively cheap and I would think a skilled welder wouldn't spend more than a day on them, especailly if I pre-cut everything. I was thinking the $400-500 range seemed about right. I will go ahead and make two and give you first crack at the second one. I also have the installation CD with pictures of the critical measurements and set-backs.

As for the bolt-in... interesting! It has the same "dog bone" support which requires cutting the floor pan. Frankly once you make the cuts a weld-in kit seems to make more sense. Wayne's kit welds between and to the rear frame rails.

One thing we'll have to contend with is exhaust routing. There's no room to go over the batwing and the exhaust on the C4s goes under the pumpkin so we'll have to figure something out.

Let's stay in touch!

Best Wishes,

Jeff

That is freakin awsome :D ! I appreciate it  !

Exhaust, maybe we can do a 90 degree right after the muffler to the left & right about 2" or 3" or maybe pointed down . I don't know I'll have to see what the law says around here about it, even though I'll be smog exempt, I'll still have to abide by the noise law.

Got just under $400 saved up ! Just need to sell some pistons and the original rear end out of my camaro( I think I have buyers for both already).

Just waiting with a big :D on my face cause I'm getting this taken care of. I was worried that I would find a kit and have to go with a 12 bolt or similar.

C4 Irs

Hey guys, I'm also looking to install a c4 IRS in my 67 camaro. I can fab and weld if I just had the plans. Any info will help. I would even be interested in buying a kit if the price is right. Also would love to see the dvd. I didn't even know that existed. Thank, Jeff
