Advice on buying U/L tubular control arms for first gen camaro
Has anybody used cheap tubular control arms? Regretted the decision, or do they perform as good as more expensive brands?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-...spagenameZWDVW I'm talking about something like this. It's half the price of Global west control arms. Any sponsors on here doing deals for forum members. What are Classic Performance Products control arms like? There is a set available in Oz at the moment for $1200. Frieght to Australia is the killer. |

I see a few guys running their brake stuff. I remember being put on hold for a long time when I called them. Now they have a full chassis for 69 nova. I heard it handles pertty well. I would ask do the A arms cure any of the geometry issues on the first gen. What kind of bushings are in them. With the load the parts take you don want some cheesy parts.

I bought a set from this guy, great shipping and VERY nice product, Billit cross shafts, fully assembled I am happy with them, I could not update the stockers for that price-Chris

I thought I read about a company in austrailia doing GM suspensions. |
Thanks for the advice guys.
Vince - I can't think of anyone here doing suspensions except RRS. You're probably thinking of them. They do conversion kits for steering racks for mustangs etc. They dont have anything for the Camaros. (yet) Here's a link to their website: http://www.rrs-online.com.au/ |
Anyone have any futher info concerning the e-bay arms above. I know they say you get what you pay for but ... it is tempting. Thanks.

I too want to know what the word is on these parts? I'm thinking they would be pretty good for my "for now, just to drive it again" build-up.

On the knock-offs I would think you wouldn't be able to tell if they actually improve anything or are simply for looks. If you are going for a cheap upgrade to style then maybe they are worth it. If you are looking for actual improvements in handling then I wouldn't risk it (least for the uppers, where a good set can actually dial in more positive caster, plus improved camber curves).
