Should I keep these shoes?

I was tired of giving people 7-8 car lengths in the Grandpa-mobile so that I could stop safely with the manual drums, and decided that I should open up a can of worms that have been sitting on the shelf for a while now.

First thing is first. Here is the car as it sat when I purchased it. I drive it daily in heavy Vegas traffic, and it stops like a big rig on ice.

Here is what I opened up. These are the limited edition Black Widow AFX tall spindles.

They come standard with black hard coat anodzing, three inch long 1/2"x20 ARP studs, and are limited to 10 pairs total.

I put them on in place of manual drums/spindles and paired them with a set of the new SSBC front brake system designed for these spindles. The brakes are designed to fit into factory 15" or larger wheels and are a 4 piston caliper and 12" rotor. Problem is, I didn't even notice that the wheels were 14" diameter, and therefore, will not fit back over the new stuff.

So I stole these shoes from my 92 Camaro and put them on the 68 to see if they would work.

Should I keep them? They completely transformed the car's look, and since Charlie won't sell me the Red Witch, this will do for now.

Thoughts?

That's a great first upgrade, Tyler...As for the wheels themselves, they are certainly budget-friendly, but I've never liked the look of them on a first-gen...

Wow brother that sure did change the look of Grandpa and I bet its way more fun to drive now!! I like it as well as the Red Witch! I say run them for now! Does this mean the '92 is out of commision? Did they bolt up with no need for spacers? How wide are the rear wheels?

Is that flat paint or sealer? You need a stock antenna! ;)

Oh sure I leave town and you have to start working on Grandpa.

I suppose the question is do you have another set of wheels sitting around that will work with the new brakes or are you stuck till your order comes in? I'm fairly certain that you won't have these for long. Can we all say HRE?

So how are those new brakes working out? Drafting with confidence now are ya? :D

I'd change them. I'm not sure to what. How about some rally wheels in a size that clears the brakes? You got to admit it looked great with the old wheels.
