Twin Turbo 73 Mach 1 updates
I've been lurking for a while and not posting much. But heres an update on the car. Im trying to get it on the road in the next couple of weeks. Body and paint will come in the next year or two so ignore the horrible body.
The new engine is in, the Tranny is in, and its on its feet for the first time. Still some small stuff to go but its getting close. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...5/DSC07444.jpg http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...5/DSC07446.jpg http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...5/DSC07453.jpg http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...5/DSC07454.jpg http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...5/DSC07460.jpg |

very nice! what are the engine specs?
|
Engine is a 408C 8.9:1 compression
Probe 16cc dished pistons Scat 6" H beams Scat 4" stoke forged crank .524 lift cam (yes the girdles are overkill Im going to go to a rolelr when my budget allows) 2.19 1.71 Manley valves, ported 4v heads Torker intake. boost will be a very modest 3.6psi For right now, I dont feel like blowing another motor. Maybe next year ill make it back up to the 9psi My old 351 had. |

any reason why you're that conservative on boost? I can understand not wanting to break it, but for an under 9:1 motor 3.6 psi is very low. Jody |

Intercoolers or lack of
Most turbo guys who run carbs do NOT run intercoolers. The atomization of the fuel through the carb creates an intercooler effect much like Using meth injection. Most Carb guys on turbomustangs.com run without intercoolers. some as high as 30psi.
