ANVil 2nd gen parts
5 Attachment(s)
I finally have protoype parts to show you guys for 2nd gen Camaro. I mounted them on my car to show how they fit and look. I know it's been a long time coming, but we are finally ready for production. I wanted to get feedback especially on the hood design as well as to see how many people want to buy some parts, so I can ge an idea of how many to make for the first production run.

quality looks great matt and fit looks super but dont care for the hood "lump" at all...
that is a super shinny top coat though!!!!! |
Although it may not be for everyone, I think you really need to see it in person. It really "fits" the car. I think one problem is that we are so used to seeing a cowl hood on everything that one becomes acustomed to seeing only that. I figured if you are gont to spring for a cf hood, why not have something that looks different than everyone else? That's why we did this design first. We are thinking of doing a hood that has a 70 Chevelle cowl scoop grafted onto it. What do you think?

Your CF parts are works of art! |

i agree with you as a consumer and someone who like to be different but as a buisness perspective even though i dont like cowls on these car i think that would probally be the best seller if you made that mold. there is a green 70-73 that has a hood with the 70 chevelle cowl... its in the same PHR that your 2nd is in when jason still owned it. it was the reader photo contest issue. how about a front on shot of it with the camera looking level to the car? |
I think once we get our Rs nose on it and paint off the carbon fiber rally stripes, it will all come together. It's hard to please everyone and sometimes I'm just doing stuff for myself. Being a designer I have a hard time producing something that goes against my aesthetic judgment, but there have been a lot of second gen hoods sold with a cowl induction scoop, so it usually comes down to a business decision. I think the standard hood is nice, but most people are asking for extra hood clearance (some want 4" or more!). I am attempting to appease the hood clearance issue while making a custom looking hood that is in keeping with the styling of the car. Maybe making the bulge into a working scoop thus providing a functional aspect to the design? Comments are welcome.

I think it looks pretty good. Like you noted, Matt, you can already buy cowl hoods for 2nd Gens, so bringing something unique to market makes the most sense.
Personally, I think you need to take some traditional angle shots of the car/hood. Front 3/4 and rear 3/4 shots with the whole car in the image so we can see how the hood lines flow with the whole car. |

Here's a link to a lot more shots. They're admittedly not the best shots, but it's what I could do over the weekend inbetween family stuff. I'll post better shots when I get a breather: http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc95/anvil_auto/ MaTT ANVil |
just looking back to the choices that you have would think that 1,2,5&6 would be great hoods ans #2 would sell the best clean and what ppl want from what i can tell( but its not my buisness to sy whats good or bad) but would think that if you made any of the others they would be sold quick just my 2 cents
