Is this a good price for 57 t-bird? HELP!
Anybody with good ideas about these cars? I have the opportunity to buy a 57 -t-bird, all original, same owner for 40 years, 30K miles, original paint, etc, etc, port hole hard top,
29k. Just some quick checking, prices are all over the map from 25K to 95k I am not sure what makes them worth 40k, The 95K is the rare supercharged versions or a rare 2x4 carb option.... Opinions please!!! Darren |

2 foot paint job, all original shape.....There is almost no rhyme or reason to the pricing on these things....I am going to pass, I do not know enough, nor do I desire the car enough that If I get stuck with it, I don't mind.
As far as I can tell, nothing makes it super rare, other than the originality...... Darren |
Actually, I don't think that the price is to bad but maybe low 20's would be better in this market. I have family members with these or have had these in the past. My uncle sold a 56 in 1988 for 25K (restored mint condition) and my father-in-law has an all original 57 that has been in the family since new, original plates, both tops, E code car (2 fours) that was appraised at 75K (though it will never be sold). In short, I don't think it would be a bad investment for long term but if you are looking to flip it...pass!
