what happened to this cam,and is it terminal?

pic is kinda blurry, but it looks like some debris got in beteween the cam and bearing.

i can only make out that it got photografed... and on the thumbnail it looks like it got gouged bt some debris... if thats the case.. grind down whar ever sticke out and reinstall with a fresh bearing and you should be fine.... turning a groove in it on a lathe will also do the trick

i changed camera and edited perhaps this will help, is the cam salvageable and if so how?? or maybe who is a better question, thanks guys

I wonder if the cam manufacturer can "fix" the journal like they do for wiped out lobes.

that is fixable... any engineshop can grind that in the crank grinder.. its just a question of removing whatever "sticks up" all the holes will just act as oilpockets...

im sure that whatever shop accepts the job will tell you that they wont take any responsibillty! but it is a quick fix

and remember to replace the cam bearings ;-) but that should be a no brainer
