67 c10 project
Well i have been busy. I put my other project on hold because i need quite a bit more money to finish it they way i want so i decided to build another truck because i had all the suspension parts from an earlier build and then after the truck is finished I plan on showing it a little then selling it to fund my c5 corvette truck project. Anyways here are some pics of what i have got done so far. I still have a few things to do but i think i will always have a few more things to do;) .
The frame has a porterbuilt front crossmember with modified upper control arm mounts and modified air ride tech strong arms, shockwaves, cantilever rear suspension, trianglated 4 link, 5" ride height, narrowed track width so i can drive it low and do a full turn. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...ewofframe2.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...ewofframe3.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...iewofframe.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...ewofframe2.jpg |
The last few pics for now. Tomorrow i am going to put the cab on and test fit some sheetmetal.

Looks like a good start Any ideas on how the body and interior will be done?

I got the cab on yesterday to make sure everything fits perfect and the wheels are centered in the fenders at dump. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...ntruckpic3.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...ntruckpic2.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...sormounts1.jpg |
Looks great Josh. What is the ride height at full dump? Is that what is pictured?

FINALLY PROGRESS!!!!!! I got my gas tank bent, welded and installed. Well almost I still have to weld on the top piece but i have to wait for parts to finish it completely. I went a little different on the install. Instead of just bending some alluminum and making an "L" bracket i decided to take 1 3/8 solid round steel, alluminum and make my mounting pieces from that. The steel piece is welded to the frame and then the alluminum piece on the end is welded to the tank. It has been tapped and helicoil's were installed to give a little extra strength but I didn't drill all the way through. So it is still sealed from the inside of the tank. I put nylon washers inbetween because after everything is powdercoated I didn't want to chip anything getting it installed and since i machined some spacers it makes it really easy to install. Let me know what you think. I wanted to be different but still have it clean looking.
Anyways heres the pics http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...t/gastank1.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...t/gastank2.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...t/gastank3.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...nksleeves1.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...nksleeves2.jpg |
