Rendering

The final version will have a fresh facelift with a new coat of paint (same color - GM Code 72 Brilliant Red Metallic) with no wheel well trim or rocker moldings and the side marker lights will be shaved along with the Formula 400 and P O N T I A C emblems for a smoother/cleaner look.

Wheels will be 18" Rushforth Superspokes with brushed/cleared centers and polish lips without hardware/rivets, again for a smoother look. Tires are Falkens new 615 series with 255/45/18s up front and 295/40/18s out back.

Brakes will be C6 Z51 kits from KORE3 with 13.4" DBA 4000 rotors up front and 13" out back with KORE3 black powder coated calipers.

Special thanks to Ben Hermance for all the renderings that led me to the final version and vision for the car. And wallpaper and wall art... (c:]

Jon and Jason at DriverzInc for answering all of my hundreds of questions and their patience in helping me pic the "right" wheel for my car. How many times did I change my mind guys? LOL

Tobin at KORE3 for much of the same and for going above and beyond in helping get the technical stuff worked out with Jon to make sure the brakes will fit/clear. He even cut down extra ARP wheel studs for my rear axles to make the installation of the brakes kits and the wheels that much easier on my end! Unheardof customer service today!

All four of these gentlemen personify what this hobby is about. People helping people. Add to it that they just happen to be some of the finest professionals in the business... who I now consider friends!

I can't thank you guys enough!

Here's the final rendering of how the car will look when finished...

V/R,
Ty

Stripper!

Nose is stripped... looks like Lucy Blue under there... original color was silver...

I dig that rendering. I would've ditched the fender louvers and kept the side markers, but that's just me- as far as integration with the body, I've always thought the 2nd gen Firebird had the best looking sidemarkers.

Whatcha gonna do with the PONTIAC letters from the rear panel?

OLDFLM 07-15-2008 05:24 PM

Fender Vents

I kept the fender vents as they're a one year only (71) feature.
The side marker lights are getting shaved as are the Formula emblems and the P O N T I A C letters in the back are gone as well. Just going for a smooth clean look overall... even my Rushforth Superspoke rims are sans the rivets/hardware for a smoother/cleaner look.

Do you want to part with the PONTIAC letters?
